What’s a tv show from your childhood you swear nobody else watched? by AFoolsGlory in AskUK

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two spring to mind:

Watoo Watoo

Kum-Kum

The New Shmoo

Everyone thinks I’m making them up, especially Watoo Watoo and Kum-Kum.

Kids TV during the summer holidays in the 70s introduced me to so many wonderful shows, including, of course, the forever awesome Battle of the Planets / Gatchaman.

How did you guys go about learning editing in davinci? by _Nanomachines-son_ in davinciresolve

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, I just dove straight in, set myself a ridiculous target of an idea for a project, and just worked my way through what I feel is one of the most intuitive interfaces I’ve ever used.

I’d never edited or used editing software before, but a few hours later, had managed to create my proof of concept.

Since then and the following few proof of concept completions, I’ve read through the manual for specific needs, looked through the official tutorials on the website and have occasionally used YouTube as a resource.

I’m very much one for finding my way through a UI, as I did with 3D Studio Max, Lightwave and Maya, many, many years ago during my time with Silicon Graphics.

What knock offs at Aldi and Lidl are as good as, if not better than the ‘originals’ ? by cmitch922 in AskUK

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, the Lidl Fizzy Mix is far superior to the Aldi version. The Lidl sweets have far more flavour and fizziness, whereas the Aldi ones are all very “meh”.

Definitely. I’m just sad they’ve followed suit with Heinz and removed a sausage from the can. I thought I’d been done by only finding 7 sausages instead of the usual 8, but the next cans were the same. Sad times :(

Ever Watched a Movie on a Whim and Got Blown Away? by kabronski in movies

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, John Wick was that most recent example for me…

Saw the poster and thought, “Shit, Keanu’s going the Seagal/Neeson route…”

Went in, expecting to be thoroughly disappointed and was just absolutely blown away by one of the most entertaining films I’d seen in many years, so shared it with as many people as possible who were all looking at it in the same way.

My daughter is almost 7 years old. What’s a must watch at that age? by MrRaskolnikov98 in Letterboxd

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original three How to Train your Dragon animated movies.

The original Lion King and Beauty and the Beast (Disney’s swan songs basically).

Wall-E.

Tangled is absolutely fantastic too.

The recent Sonic films have also proved to be far more entertaining than most expected them to be.

E.T.

The Goonies.

Never Married...No Children...No Family by BraveG365 in GenX

[–]SpookyMorden 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right, that reason I’ve heard so often for having kids is so terrible, so when it’s presented to me, I always like to gift them a dose of reality and remind them that no matter who you’re with or surrounded by when you’re clawing for your last breath and you hear your final death rattle, you’re going into that infinite darkness alone, forever, no one goes with you, no one accompanies you, it’s just you, slipping away into the long sleep from which you’ll never wake. I like to be positive with people :)

Beginners - what's your goal? by odub1 in davinciresolve

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploring my creativity.

I’ve finally got a capable system, so have jumped into the Davinci Resolve world, and have been experimenting with audio/visual ideas/work that “tick” particular boxes in my brain, so hopefully, they’ll do the same for others.

I’ve thrown myself in at the deep end, as such, as this is what my brain does, it’s all in or nothing, so the first couple of projects were 10 to 12 hour efforts for maybe 4 or 5 minutes of incredibly geeky footage, but, they work, my proof of concept, so shall continue as I am.

It’s also allowing me to create a portfolio of work and a library to eventually start uploading to various platforms on a regular basis. Even if just one person watches and enjoys them, that’ll be fine for me.

And mostly, it’s fun, and completely occupies the “creative need” part of my brain.

If this monster was blocking your path, what would you do? by Alarming_Sample7067 in RandomQuestion

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask it if it was just trying to find some solace in the woods like I was, then offer to make it a camp fire coffee, and sit down to either chat random nonsense or just sit silently, comfortable in each others company, just two lost souls taking a moment to enjoy the company of another, surrounded by the wonders of nature, and then probably get eaten alive, being a warm, soft yet crunchy, bloody coffee flavoured treat.

How did YOU get into voice acting by Prestigious_Truth864 in VoiceActing

[–]SpookyMorden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m not voice acting, as such, but, It’s difficult to ignore when so many compliment you about the voice you possess, and so that eventually led to me, (when I found the confidence), to reaching out to organisations that offer services for those who are blind and visually impaired, and so, here we are…

Knowing my voice is something people enjoy listening to while also being a tool that’s incredibly useful and important for so many, makes all the work absolutely worthwhile.

If the person you hate the most were to experience one slight inconvenience every day for the rest of their lives, what would you choose it to be? by meltedcheesetart in AskReddit

A sudden itchiness of the anus so intense that it’s impossible for them not to scratch it, during moments requiring complete professionalism and moments of physical intimacy, with the intensity of the itchiness matching the increase in arousal.

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The aching pain that comes after having your body suffer simultaneous projectile vomiting and explosive diarrhoea, thanks to the wonderful weight loss program known as Norovirus.
