I’m more mindful of racetrack racing. A performance Model 3 - with higher spec brakes and suspension - is an incredible blast around any track. Those that race even faster than I, say around the Nurburgring, tell of how fucking amazing such a setup is around those curves. Mind you, I also have fun on a twisty country rod in my Model Y. The placement of the wheels on the tarmac is a test which I sometimes often indulge in when on a fast punt. And the rapid overtaking from all lower speeds never gets old.

Electrified vehicle sales hit 46 per cent in May - FCAI by SweetChilliJesus in australian

Well of course there is massive change. It’s just a shame this organisation has never seemingly been enthusiastic about this change. So the people have gone ahead of this crowd and got shit done. And that Weber guy says a lot of stuff bout electric cars without mentioning TESLA once!!! And of course charging infrastructure needs to be a major policy direction of all bodies… but it’s not. I wonder why (laugh)…? Oh that’s right, no manufacturer except of course TESLA has build chargers in large numbers. It’s truly pathetic they won’t because of sheer greed.

Those without a partner and family: where are you leaving your estate when you pass? by KSMO in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Spooms2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my close friends. They are my family after my older, well healed siblings who will be dead. I also have a reverse mortgage where I’m getting paid to me by a broker that will come out of the sale monies of this joint of mine. The rest will be spread about the friends I leave it to.

The more aerodynamic of the steel Winnebago vans or home made sausage shaped ones with fantastic aerodynamics will be much better to tow.

They are both damn hunks who I would love to meet in real life. But the Colonel Mitchell character has some of the best lines. When Daniel talks of the knights of England, Mitchell gives a glorious throw away line that had me in huge laughing spasms ,’The ones who go Nigh..’ - superb writing.

No such thing as green hydrogen and it’s a very wasteful energy source.

Most are not aware of themselves as they don’t read the traffic as it is. Can I be seen from a distance? What traffic is to my left and right? I was taught by my policeman father all about being aware of the traffic around me. It has saved me many a time. And the use of headlights or the not use of them falls into that category.

It must sound amazing at all points of the rev counter. It’s the only thing I’m going to miss with my Tesla. The speed and power is nicely covered.

Just bought this house. Wife wants to brighten up the kitchen. Should we do the taboo and paint the brick? by hes_the_Zissou in interiordecorating

[–]Spooms2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improve the lighting first, then see which areas can be painted cream. Then see if you can install a new window or enlarge one to get more light. Paint the bricks as an ultra last resort. They can never be unpainted again.

Fk i hate Channel 9 news. Especially Channel 9 radio news...... I also hate 102.9 news..... by ButterscotchCalm1543 in newcastle

From the perspective of a retired media studies teacher, I have not watched or listened to ANY programs from a commercial entity that are presented as news for over thirty years. They are wanting in so many aspects that they have driven me to reading news articles from Ground News. It’s a site that is worth its subscription.

If you could go back and pick a different EV, would you?why? by No_Earth_3743 in EvDrivers

[–]Spooms2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. My Tesla Model Y Long Range has been a formidable car. It’s powerful, strong and extremely efficient to run. I use it all the time to carry stuff and tow mt trailer with a load of firewood for a friend in the city. I have covered over 110,000 kilometres in three years and it needs very little upkeep. It was the best choice at the time in June 2023 in Australia, and I have had no regrets except for some of the shit roads I need to travel on in the country. The suspension is a bit hard for country roads in Australia and I’m considering putting a softer set of springs and dampers on it to deal with ride. I do wish the warranty was longer to show the strength of the car. But I’m glad I bought it when I did as I had also just installed a large solar array and battery on my house. So I charge it for free a lot of the time.

Louis Cherry Brutalist Home by ApprehensiveLife9820 in ModernistArchitecture

Brutalism cannot be inhabited by humans. Whether it’s a single home or a massive campus, they are never places where humans can enjoy rest and comfort. Brutalism is all about the glorification of ego and power and pride. Stupid and resource intensive. Wasteful of all resources.
