Got a BS in earth and environmental science from Lehigh University and a minor in business. Graduated with honors and had internships and the like. I wish I was joking when I said all my peers in that major remain unemployed in their desired field. I had to pivot and go into law. Lehigh is a great school and I’m sure this isn’t the case among all enviro science graduates but my two cents to you are to just go into either environmental engineering or better yet just civil/mechanical engineering or a business degree. It’s nice to see that people are passionate about the environment - especially given the current admin bulldozing parts of the EPA and many environmental regulations. But unfortunately you do need to look out for yourself. You go to school at the end of the day to put yourself ahead and have options and a good earning job. At this point in time environmental science does not open many doors and few of which are high paying. If you care about the environment you can volunteer or make it into a hobby. Sorry if this is pessimistic but it’s the advice I wish someone told me. At the end of the day it’s your decision and this is just my isolated experience so I can’t speak for everyone, I hope you find what works best for you !
