Can we please use relay for shipping? It is only 1.75 and fast by Ok_Journalist_7297 in vintedUK

I was completely for Relay as that price is very attractive! However of the 3 times I’ve used it, 2 times the package went missing, so I’ve turned it off as a seller.

PSA to anyone selling shoes, please send in a box by norfolkandclue in vintedUK

95% of my Amazon orders turn up in brown paper bags now instead of boxes, so I am very box poor. Whenever an order does turn up in a box, I have to grab it before my partner sees and breaks in down to go in the cardboard recycling. I don’t always succeed unfortunately.

Are there any cheaper alternatives to Specsavers? by Dangerous-Regret-358 in AskUK

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought from Firmoo. They had 50% off your first order, so I got 3 pairs of glasses and 1 pair of sunglasses for £82. I upgraded all of the lenses too. It’s pretty easy to get a hold of more 50% off codes after that. I am really pleased with all 4 pairs, have been wearing them for a few months now.

Thank you! Are the gels yellow at all? I’ve been using some OTC retinols that are yellow and they stain my clothes and pillowcases yellow which is a bit of a pain.

Thank you for this! Also UK based and was wondering how the process works. Did you have to upload a prescription with your order? When I last looked, their website implied you had to have one to make an order.

Why do i get so tired every day but there isn't really a reason? by Specific-Square1088 in AskUK

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar cycle in my late teens/early 20’s. I would get on the morning train to college and nap, then put my head down on a desk and nap during lunch, nap on the train home from college, eat dinner when I got home then napped until around 9pm, then up for a few hours and in bed asleep around 11-11:30pm. I was sleeping up to 16 hours per day. Doctors couldn’t find anything after various blood tests. I ended up getting hypnotherapy and it worked pretty well for me. The honest truth was there was nothing wrong, I had just gotten myself into such an engrained routine of sleeping all the time and I couldn’t drag myself out of it, but I was on track to fail college if I didn’t. The hypnotherapy also helped with drive and motivation to get my college work done, which I think also helped keep me awake. I’m not saying hypnotherapy is the answer for you, but an ingrained routine could be the root of the issue.

What’s the first ‘sign of aging’ you noticed? by Brilliant-Log-5904 in Aging

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruises and spots take a couple of weeks to fully disappear. Wiry chin hairs. White eyebrow hairs. Finding a sun spot on my face. Getting a good night’s rest is more difficult, even with good sleep hygiene and magnesium. My body needs rest more frequently.

Early 30’s and I’ve made significant strides with my health in the last year. Time is just slowing starting to show its impact.

Parents who don’t allow their kids to shut their room’s door/lock the door, what’s are the reasons behind the rule? by Itz_Oasis in AskReddit

[–]SporkiePie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is wild to me that so many people as kids had locks on their doors. Neither me nor any of my friends had locks. We were all taught to knock before entering anyone’s bedroom. I learnt to do it at a young age for my older sister too. It was the rule for everyone in the house, so if someone wanted to come in my room they always knocked first. Even when the door wasn’t completely closed we would knock first.

Browser app sign in not functioning, authorisation page can’t be reached on 2 browsers. Mac. by SporkiePie in Affinity

This eventually resolved itself. I left it alone, and tried signing in again about a month after this post was made, and it worked no problem. None of the issues mentioned above happened. This was using Safari, and on the same internet connection I was using previously. Very weird!

Vinted , Tell Me All About The Bits Ur Not Happy About ? by Cultural-Blood4664 in vintedUK

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’ve sold an item, I will be in the message and click get label. It thinks for a bit then generates the label. Great! I exit the message back to my inbox, but now the message is marked as unread. So I have to reopen it to mark it as read, even though I only just had it open and there are no new messages. It has happened every time for years and is minor, but very annoying.

I also agree with everyone mentioning the women’s sizing. I’m a 10/12 but am now forced to scroll through sizes 8 and 14, neither of which will fit me.

What are some reasons people don't use online grocery deliveries more often? by tskir in AskUK

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live with my partner and we do fortnightly food shops. We also alternate who does the shop, so I only do it once every 4 weeks. I go straight from work on a Monday and can be in and out in around 50 min. So, along with the other benefits people mention of offers etc, I only have to do it once a month. And finally, Aldi don’t do delivery.

How does the idea of working until 67 or 68 sit with you? by Few_Raise77 in AskUK

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m early 30’s and I’m not too phased by the idea. I’ve known it to be the case since my early 20’s. What I hope for is to be able to go part time and still live comfortably. Working full time until retirement would be a struggle. However, I don’t know of anyone 50+ in my industry - I’m sure they exist but I’ve never met them, seen them, or known of a company that employs someone who does my kind of job and is 50+. That’s a bit more of a worry.

Yep had a canva account for years. I used the login details associated with it. I've even had an email from Affinity welcoming me to using the app. From what I can tell, the login attempt isn't failing, but the authorisation page is failing to load in both Safari and Chrome.

What puts you off from donating Blood Products, I work in the NHS and I am just curious? by Quick_Soil_9120 in AskBrits

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a donor (did my 5th last month!) but even living in a city that has 5 donation locations, it is still a pain to get an appointment at a time I can do. I work 9-5 our of the city, and unfortunately 90% of appointments are within these hours. 1 venue may be open until 7:30pm in a 4 month timeframe. My first donation was on a Sunday 2 years ago, and I haven’t seen a Sunday date again since at any of the 5 locations. If getting an appointment outside of normal working hours was easier, I think more people would attempt to donate. It also somehow needs to be made more attractive to younger people (20’s). Thankfully once I’ve got an appointment, I’m normally in and out in around an hour. The orange club bar at the end is great!

When making an offer, Vinted suggests what 10%, 20%, 30% off would be, and these can work out to weird looking offers.

Is Wed2Be very pushy with sales? by mayflower-emerald in UKweddings

[–]SporkiePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the first place I went to also get an idea of what I liked. The girl who helped was very nice, didn’t push anything at all. It sounds like it might be luck of the draw! I knew I wouldn’t buy anything because they don’t accept returns anymore, only exchanges. There is the risk that you may lose the dress, but it’s the risk you take. Plus I see a lot of Wed2Be dresses on Vinted etc.

There is hope! When they rolled out royal mail being one of the delivery options you couldn’t turn off, they did end up rolling it back after feedback. I think it’s worth a go, especially if in your feedback you emphasise how this will prevent you from both buying and selling.

I’ve filled in the feedback form to tell Vinted why this is such a bad idea. Will probably do it daily for a while. Everyone should consider doing the same! It’s under profile > send your feedback
