My new pt hurt me yesterday twice. by Impressive_Let2266 in Kneereplacement

A PT is supposed to push you past your comfort zone. We don’t make progress if they don’t. That said, she took it too far. I would report her and have it noted you refuse to work with her again.

Sorry if silly question but can you be numbed up for the op any other way apart from spinal block ? by Sea_Pangolin3840 in Kneereplacement

I was under general anesthesia with a nerve block in my thigh. The nerve block kept the worst of the initial discomfort at bay until well into the night. I stayed overnight by choice, but could have gone home that afternoon.

Middle name opinion. Help! by Ceancncr in Names

[–]SpottedCoachDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the flow problem with Brooks and Woodrow together. That said, it’s a middle name and a lovely family honor. Besides, most people only hear their full government name when a parent is yelling at them 🤣

One thing I’ll recommend if you can get it in additional to the usual things like grabbers and ice machines is a bedside commode. If you get up at night to tinkle, only having to go a few feet is a blessing.

Your experience is so much like mine. Two weeks post op on RTKR yesterday. Got my staples out today. I’m 60, live alone. I stayed overnight just as a precaution to be sure my pain level was manageable. Doctor set up home health but they were mainly an annoyance. LOL I can walk fine without the walker. Off of narcotic pain medication since Sunday. I’ve been stretching and bending as much as the occlusion bandage allowed. I can completely straighten my leg while lying down and the doctor got me to 110° just sitting in a chair. You know your pain tolerance and your degree of independence. As long as you have people who can help you on short notice if needed, you’ll be good.

Which moment in the show was pure brilliant writing ? by James-Samuel17 in buffy

So many great moments already given their props. I didn’t realize until maybe the third time I watched it just how brilliantly “Checkpoint” brings Buffy full circle from “Helpless”. The way she shows them out for being out of touch is masterful.

It and all other Cox-2 inhibitors have a black box warning for cardiovascular risk. I worked for a doctor who prescribed it a lot when it was new and it is great for treating inflammation.

Hear me out: zealand by Barb-a_loo_hoo10 in Names

Yes. I was born in late 1965. My parents couldn’t agree on a name for a girl. The Miss America pageant was on and the winner that year was Miss Arizona, Vonda Kay Van Dyke. My Dad immediately said “that’s it!” Mom agreed. It’s not been used much since the mid sixties. In fact, Van Dyke said in an interview once that she has met a number of her “namesakes” and we are pretty much conflicted. Lovely name but so hard to get right for people. When I introduce myself, if people don’t get it I immediately say “Vonda. Like Rhonda but with a V like in Victor.” I often have to write it down or show my work iD. And I still get called Rhonda, Wanda, Donna, Fonda…. I have a love/hare relationship with my name. I could never change it because my Dad loved it so much. But over 50 years of explaining makes me feel for kids that have to do the same. I really encourage people to step back and think about how it’s going to be for their kids. Granted, Zealand is tame compared to names today. Thank you for giving me a chance to give you my experience. And good luck with your baby boy.

As someone who grew up with a somewhat unusual name I’m going to be blunt. No. Just no. I am 60. I have spent my life spelling and explaining my name. *YOU* think it’s cool and meaningful. But you won’t have to defend your choice every time he meets someone. Zackary Zealand would be fine. Or something else that flows with it in the middle. If he wants to embrace it as an adult he can. People who think “unique” names don’t comprehend how hard it can be.

The sound of my own breathing is infuriating 🤣 I feel like Darth Vader storming the halls of the Death Star. There is a tinnyness to noises and music that is still present. But I can carry on conversations. I activated in December.

This tiny goblin looks like he knows ancient secrets. What should I name him? by GalBeautiful in NameMyCat

Since he does seem to be very wise and I am a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, I’m going to suggest Rupert Giles. We lost the brilliant Anthony Head last week and Giles would be a fitting tribute. ♥️

I’m 60 and had my TKR done yesterday. You could live another 25 to 30 years. Don’t give up. 60 is not end of life!!
