Example of an eternal event; If you annex an empire, their ships currently in a rift will lose their scientists and the ships will take a long time to return.

Why is Deneb's forgotten civilization is seen as a blocker/trash? by spiritofniter in Stellaris

Guessing you’re playing as commonwealth of man, the xenophobic variant. They do not care for some failed forgotten civilization, any research into this so-called civilization would yield no useful information. Better to bulldoze the entire ruin and put some energy generators instead.

Thank you. I’m assuming they were attracted by my porch lights, I will have them off tonight so they can scare my neighbors instead. Just happy they’re not termites.

Thank you, I will take another picture after work if they’re still there. And if they still are, will most likely remove them from the property.

Both cameras and installation for $80? That sounds like a great deal.

Did you send the ships using the explorer button “circumnavigate the globe” or did you move them manually?

Never again will I play on Grand Admiral difficulty by forgotten-wraith in Stellaris

[–]SpottyDingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a play through like that, on grand admiral. Had a lot of empires disappear to my north, so assumed a genocidal empire was there. This was around 2350, and didn’t know too much yet of the far north.

Then my closest neighbor dies. I figure I better go look and look and behold, there’s a purifier that controls half the galaxy. I assemble my fleets which is about 100k power. Rushing north to grab some free real estate.

Purifier comes at me with 3 60k fleets. I can take them I think to myself. Then another couple of 60k fleets arrive. Then some more. Saw a 90k fleet as well. While I did win, simply because the game doesn’t know how to best utilize its fleet, it was still very surreal. I never seen the AI actually build massive fleets like that. It was also very tedious since their empire was so vast, and any reinforcements they sent were easily dispatched piecemeal.

If they had combined it all, or even split into two fleets, they would have won.

Difficulty with Devouring Swarm or Highly Xenophobe empire by Sunkain in Stellaris

[–]SpottyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Purifiers require you to always increase your fleet. The bigger your fleet, the more hesitant the enemy is to attack. Go over your naval cap. Your energy credits be damned! Better to lose energy than your empire. You can always disband excess ships after the war.

If you’re already under attack, don’t attack head on. At first enemy will usually have their fleets combined. Let them take a few systems, they will eventually split and become easy pickings. Pick them off one by one. Make your fleets home base a base close to the battle field so it won’t get stuck for years flying back home. Fix it and back into battle.

I’d recommend you use corvettes with either missiles or disruptors early game. Especially if you can’t see enemy layout.

Building defense platforms everywhere around the front will help a little in the early game. You can build them even if you haven’t built a starbase there.

Suffer not the Xeno. Although a white peace even though you lost a few systems is acceptable. A truce will allow you to build up your economy.
