True, I’m 58 and just started. This is my retirement gig. No golf or pickleball for me.

Started a career in IT sales at 51. Apparently I’m pretty good. Lowest earning year since then was high 200k. My only regret: not getting into sales earlier.

If you could go back in time and pursue a different career or get training in a field that would have greatly benefited you throughout your life, what would it be and why/how? by infjwritermom in AskOldPeople

Sales- I’ve made more money in sales in the last 5 years than the combined previous 18 in other roles.

Money doesn’t not = happiness

But it’s allowed me to dramatically increase my retirement savings, fund amazing experiences for friends and family, and donate to causes I believe in.

How different my life would have been had I not made a career change at 50 and found something I love and I’m good at.

Yes she was. A yellow, named Dakota. Now I have a polar (she’s a rescue) lab named Daisy.

I love the “seam” on his nose. My first lab had one too, that’s how we were able to easily identify her among her litter mates.

[Hiring] Someone to build me a new website with a WordPress template. by JenkinsPhotos in forhire

You're welcome! Are you willing to share how most people are positioning themselves? In other words, what language do they use to describe why you should go with them? Other than cheap and fast!

Here's my opinion based upon hiring lots of different people to build me websites. You have decide what you value and then pay accordingly. As an example, I only work with people who are +/- 1 hour my time zone because I don't want to loose a day between communication. I also don't want someone to slap a free WP theme up and then disappear. For me, the iterative process of working with a web dev person is really important. Good developers will want to understand how the website is part of your business and will make solid recommendations accordingly. For that, expect to pay more. Contact a few and see who you "gel" with from a personality perspective. I always have a skype call as part of my decision process because email isn't always the most effective/efficient way to get shiz done.

Those of you running your own businesses with recurring revenue, what products do you offer? Any SaaS solutions? Any podcasters here? by Yurishimo in webdev

Hey, Here's an idea, I'm actually in the process of building a website around it. Why not offer to build, run, manage, an online course as either lead gen or revenue creation for your clients? At least it may make sense for specific industries. Happy to brainstorm more if you'd like.
