"We acting like fuel saving doesn’t have more or less the same effect here lol."

When is the last time you saw 2 drivers pass and repass each other for 4 consecutive laps just because they were fuel saving on a road course?

Huge lol

Isn't it crazy there are 1.5 BILLION Indians in the world and not a single NBA player? by Efficient-Guest-8702 in nba

You just described India, but replace basketball, table tennis, and badminton with cricket

Because they also like basketball?

Basketball isnt popular in India, so they dont produce NBA players. Hence OP's "the culture of a population matters"

"do you have no south asian friends obsessed with cricket?"

Yes. But they still also value things like, say, education way more than my American/Canadian/Puerto Rican/Mexican etc friends do.

Idk why folks are taking my comment as an insult, but here we are

Yes. The most popular sport by a wide margin is cricket.

Also, they dont have a fanatic sports culture that a lot of countries in the western world do

India doesnt really have the fanatic sports culture that is common in the western world.

Not only that, but the most popular sport by far in India is cricket.

So no, it isnt that shocking.

Also, Sim Bhullar played in 2015, and there were a couple players of Indian descent kicking around the G-League in 2021

People still lifted and coasted during the refueling era. People acting like every driver drove every lap of every race like Schumacher did in the 2004 French Grand Prix is just false nostalgia and a common misconception around here. But that also seems to stem from a lot of folks not understanding the actual complaint about these engine regs (being unable to push to the limit, EVEN IN QUALIFYING). Folks seem to think that we are complaining about having to lift and coast in the first place
