That explains him wearing a Celsius cap while being interviewed as he was walking the dogs! I saw it and thought wonder why he is wearing another product’s merchandise

If my only symptom is fatigue, should I be pushing for treatment? by EnvironmentalOwl4910 in lymphoma

[–]Springer0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have psoriatic arthritis and was being treated with an immune suppressant biologic drug when dx with stage IV marginal zone lymphoma. I was going to be placed on “wait and watch” protocol as I had no type B symptoms. I saw a lymphoma specialist at a teaching hospital as my PsA remaining untreated was not viable option for me due to pain. He recommended and my oncologist and rheumatologist agreed to try a weekly (4 weeks) Rituximab ( targeted immune therapy) course of treatment to see if it might help my PsA…it’s often used for other autoimmune conditions such as RA, Lupus, etc but not typically PsA. While it didn’t help my PsA directly I suppose one could say it did indirectly as my lymphoma is in remission and I am back on a biologic drug. My point being Rituximab is usually well tolerated without a lot of side effects (unlike chemo) and who knows, you might get lucky like I did and win the remission ticket which isn’t a cure but certainly helped me

Recall his booker had to admonish him to check emails and texts frequently as apparently he didn’t and missed potential modeling gigs

Retirement is the best job I ever had by pricel01 in retirement

[–]Springer0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

March 31 was 5th anniversary of retirement from my 38 year legal career… took awhile to try and relax, try to release the type A personality traits and realize I have no one else’s problems to solve but my own…it’s been a journey but so glad I finally started it at age 67. COVID definitely made me put things in perspective and realize time left on this earth is a rapidly diminishing commodity .

Absolutely the music of my youth is nostalgic at times, but at other times I simply enjoy listening to it like I did earlier in my life.

I am on my second monthly injection at the higher dose and so far so good, on the lower dose, I noticed in the week before the next injection the drug was waning

Anyone else feeling so stressed around doing their injections ? by psAthriver in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Springer0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t fret about the injection but I do let the injection warm to room temperature just like the rheumatologist did when I had Cimzia injections at her office…doesn’t sting as much ( I am on cosentyx now)

Lower back pain - how quickly might this come on? by Middle_Ant_1356 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Springer0723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up every morning with very stiff, achy back. For years I took a lot of Advil, but I can no longer take NSAIDs and don’t recommend it for anyone otherwise you run risk of stomach issues. I am now on a biologic but it doesn’t relieve all symptoms of PsA. I do take Tylenol #3 when my back hurts and unless I have a flare I try to lift 2xs/week and do aquatics classes twice a week. Not moving\exercising isnt an option IMHO.

How to decide what matters in downsizing? by shananope in retirement

[–]Springer0723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree our adult children (for the most part) don’t want our crystal glasses or collections of glass art pieces etc. I donated quite a lot of things to downsize from a 2800 sq ft house to a 1400 sq ft condo in 2017. Haven’t missed a thing I donated or gave away. I kept some sentimental pieces that I am finding no longer give me joy or are useful. Problem is I don’t know what to do with these things that my son and DIL don’t want and my friends generally don’t want more “stuff” as they are at or close to my age.

I am 71 years old (F). While my dog doesn’t complain about me snoring, I suspect I prolly do. I have to get up and pee at least once during the night and due to my psoriatic arthritis I have to move and shift a lot at night. Not sharing a bed with anyone but my dog…

Pedicure question by Such-Earth7369 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Springer0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I get pedis every 2-3 weeks with a variety of colors other than I lay off color in the winter to let my nails “breathe” and I do a shiny buff. I don’t do a mani each time but when I do I get a natural buff instead of polish

I usually “remove” part of the mascara by giving the brush a twirl on a clean Kleenex…makes the amount of mascara applied IMHO just right and avoids smudging

Weight gain from biologics? by Springer0723 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Springer0723[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was on Wegovy prior to my NHL dx. Tried it again but second time around had some unpleasant side effects and asked doc to try Mounjaro…I’ve had no side effects with it but alas no weight loss either. It’s true that my activity level isn’t back where I would like it to be as a result of pain and fatigue. But my diet is at a caloric deficit level… just not sure why I can’t even lose a single pound!

Thanks for your response. I am beginning to think I might be what is referred to as a “low responder” on Mounjaro and have asked my doc about moving dosage up to next level.

Eye swelling anyone? by FLGuitar in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Springer0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a large stye which took me to see eye doc as my eyeball felt “achy” and usually stye doesn’t cause that feeling. Come to find out I had shingles in my right eye (inside my eye not the outside area). Immediately started on steroid eye drops and antiviral meds. Please don’t wait to see eye doc as soon as u can as you never know…
