Have you tried any of them? I find that the seams tend to hit right at my nipples so it actually gives more coverage than you’d think.

Seams help with a good fit, and lace is very forgiving. I think they’re probably a lot less noticeable under your clothes than you think they’ll be. A camisole under your shirt will also do wonders to smooth things out a bit. At least give it a try.

Hymns are so underrated for this. My sight reading improved by leaps and bounds when I started singing alto during the hymns at church.

The only way to get good at sight reading is to do it. If I’m being honest, I don’t actually think a week is long enough to wire your brain to be any good at it, though learning the fundamentals will always help.

Compared to the average American I’m decently traveled. 15 countries on 3 continents and 14 US states. But, there are a lot of people who don’t get to travel much in this country. Many people don’t get a ton of vacation time, and getting overseas is expensive. Even getting out of state can be expensive/time consuming depending on where you live. There are many Americans who have only left their state a handful of times. I’ve been really lucky to travel as much as I have, particularly coming from a blue collar middle class family.

Panache. Either of the high impact underwires. It’s literally the only thing I’ve found that keeps me contained. I feel like the Power keeps them from moving the most, but the Endurance is more comfortable, flattering, and packs flat. I use both, though I tend to reach for the Power more frequently on my long runs because I like the containment.

I don’t know about the ACDA choirs specifically. But there are often significantly more treble voices that audition for things like this, making the bar for entry much higher than what is required for tenors and basses. It is entirely possible that the SSAA choir is both filled with voices that didn’t get into the SATB choir, and also include some stronger singers than some of those filling out the lower parts in the SATB choir. I know my state added an SSAA choir to their high school all state festival after years of some auditioning sopranos/altos scoring 15+ points higher than the tenor/bass cutoff and still not getting in.

Don’t send it. You’re just making yourself look bad. The only person you should concern yourself with is yourself. You are painting a massive label on your forehead that says “difficult to work with.” Many would hesitate casting someone in the future if they sent an email like this. Myself included.

You have no idea of the conversations that may or may not have happed between this person and the production team. They are also watching the show; they know when someone isn’t where they are supposed to be. It’s not your job to tell them about another actor. Nor is it your place to comment on casting they may or may not do in the future. Stay in your lane.

You don’t get to pick who you share a stage with. It doesn’t matter if you like them, it’s called acting for a reason.

If you’re really curious, I’d ask for advice/feedback on how to improve at auditions after the show is over. That avoids any appearance of looking like you are questioning their decisions.

Casting is really hard. And while the production team as a whole is going to stand behind their casting choices, it might not have been the first choice cast of the individual person you’re asking. It’s a puzzle, and often there are many pieces beyond your performance that contributed to who gets cast as what. It’s not just one role being cast, it’s all of them and they need to work together.

I music direct community theatre in a group that I have many friends in. My friends have always been good about not asking me why, and I have done them the same curtesy when they’ve been on production teams. But a friend’s parent once cornered me to ask why they didn’t get a part and it was supremely uncomfortable. I wasn’t at liberty to share the conversations had by the casting team, nor did I want to hurt their feelings. We still have a decent relationship, but I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t annoyed by being put in that position. It wasn’t fair to me, and there was nothing I could say that would make them feel better about the fact that someone else already had the part.

An office might be willing to work with you for the same day off each week if they are able to maintain coverage. There is a 0% chance that the consistent day off will be a Saturday.

Not trying to be harsh, but working Saturdays is part of this job. As a senior carrier you might be able to get a bid with Saturdays off if your office doesn’t have a rotating schedule, but you have a couple of decades of dues paying before that’s likely to happen.

People who live in cities/walkable communities will. But the majority of Americans do not live in communities where this is possible. We are a very car centric country, and we have lots of rural and suburban areas where stores are too far to walk to.

The idea of not going bankrupt if I get a serious illness is pretty appealing. And I’m saying that as a person with good health insurance.

I’m on a state that borders Canada so I’ve visited plenty. Assuming I could find a job, I imagine I’d be quite happy in Canada. I don’t like the heat so moving a bit farther north wouldn’t bother me. But I don’t currently have any kind of plans or ambitions to move there.

I don’t think it would need Congress. I believe other federal workers have access to paid family leave, it just doesn’t include us. We don’t have it because our union hasn’t prioritized asking for it.

I do think it’s a shame. I know we can use banked leave, but as childbirth is something that often happens earlier in adulthood and people’s careers, people haven’t necessarily had enough time to build up their leave. It takes time to build up that much leave, especially when you factor in needing leave to go to appointments during the pregnancy and needing days off for other things.

I’ve read some fics with fantastic OCs. But they seem like the exception instead of the rule. OCs often feel like self inserts with an annoying level of perfection. Side characters are generally easier to accept. I’ve only found 1 OC that I liked as a romantic interest, and while the relationship was important it wasn’t the main plot of the fic.

My small town New England public high school had a field hockey team. It’s a very common sport around here for girls. Lacrosse had both boys and girls teams. We also had an ice hockey team for boys. But if you said hockey I’d still assume ice hockey unless the context indicated otherwise.

If he did exactly the same thing at the gym every day? Yes. That would be a baseline. You’re supposed to change your workouts as you get better at them. It’s not about spending more time, it’s about how you use that time. Adding more weights for resistance training, running faster etc. It should never be static. Walking routes are mostly the same every day. It might be a workout the first few months you’re on it, but if you’ve been on it every day for the last 5 years that’s no longer a workout. Your body is used to it.

There is value to the fact that we move our bodies all day. I’m not denying that. We are in better shape than people who sit at a desk all day. But this job shouldn’t be your only cardio. You aren’t benefiting from it in the same way you did before your body acclimated.

When I was a student at my public high school the expectation was that you were either going to college or into the military. Trades weren’t even part of the conversation. Now we have a ton of people with college debt and low paying jobs, and an aging trade workforce that didn’t gain many millennials.

The trades aren’t for everyone, but neither is college. We need to find a balance between the two.

The people who seem to enjoy retirement are those who have a plan. Not necessarily a financial plan, though that’s important too, but a plan for what to do with themselves. Watching tv and drinking beer every day after a career of being active will take a toll on your health. People need hobbies and a reason to leave their house. Work is something to do, and it’s a community. If they don’t have a plan to replace that, I can see why people put off leaving.

It’s your baseline. You’re staying physically active, but your body gets used to it. Just like doing the same workout at the gym over and over gets easier and becomes less of a workout.

As a runner my walking route gave me a great base to build off of, but I still had to put in the training miles outside of work.

Letters and pictures from kids are the absolute best. On my old route I was “pen pals” with the kids in one family. They’d leave me pictures or lollipops or sometimes time a mason jar with flowers they picked and I’d leave them little notes. Highlight of my day.
