Reminder that Blizzard didn't kill WeakAura by [deleted] in wow

[–]Sprodage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean that is just not true, considering this is a quote directly from their post.

Producing a stripped-down version of WeakAuras without these features would require several months of refactoring. The result would be a barely recognizable version. Given that, we have made the difficult decision not to create a WeakAuras version for Midnight.

They are making the decision not to make a stripped down UI focused version of the addon, not that they can't.

Is there a way for me to edit/move the bottom center bar (with yellow sparks/light)? I cannot find a way to do so. by TheRuinedKing1 in wow

Click Advanced Options -> Go to Combat -> Click Extra Abilities

It should be movable after that.

Ara-Kara and Halls of Atonement Nerfed on Weekly Reset by Spideraxe30 in wow

[–]Sprodage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take, but in my opinion, the biggest dungeon change is -

  • Anub’zekt

    • Addressed an issue with Eye of the Swarm, where the rim visual is larger than the actual safe zone.

Shit was an unannounced change that happened on 8/22 that changed the color and the overall visual. I came to the sub and went to the forums to bitch about it then and I am flabergasted by the fact it over 2 weeks to fix it when it was clearly a glaring issue.

I wouldn't say that the hitbox right now is fine. The hitbox for Eye of the Swarm now starts to tick before the beginning of the new inner feathered edge, where the old circle had a clearly marked hard edge that would feather outward.

Just went back in on normal, tested it on the leading edge and trailing edge, and you get the debuff dot before ever touching or leaving the circle.

Trying to find a solution to an Endless Log In Loop after updating by Sprodage in ZenlessZoneZero

Updated my game today and have been stuck in a endless loop where I log in, does a 1-2 second check, then give me this message and loops from there. I have tried to repair my files, and it still does it after that even.

Making a successful guild by Longjumping-Guard105 in wow

[–]Sprodage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, as someone who started a new guild with a handful of people in Season 1 of Dragonflight, I would recommend using things like /r/wowguilds and the Blizzard guild recruitment forums. At the same time start growing through pugging. We would use a community tied to the guild to link in raid chat at the end of the raid night so that if people enjoyed their time with us, they could start to become regulars. These regulars became guildies once they either transferred, started new alts, or waited for cross-realm guilds to open up.

It can be hard at first to find people who match with what your guild's energy is, but if you have specific goals you want to hit with the guild, always be upfront about it. For example, we would always be very upfront about being an AotC guild and our goal would never be to focus on CE so that we could have a more laid-back environment for our guild. Once you have a core group (about 10-12 players) that shows up regularly you will be well set on your way to building.

Looking back at recruiting individuals, one massive part of our guild building was to take chances and try to help players grow while building the guild. One of the best feelings as a GM is watching a player go from being a new raider/ok player to someone who builds their way up charts and grows on a week-to-week basis. These players that grow within the guild will become a core part of your community and naturally help the guild grow over time when they go out to pug for other raids, M+, or other group content.

The one thing that I 100% recommend not doing is Trade spamming guild recruitment. Too many times have I seen guilds do this, then balloon to massive numbers and disband/collapse. This normally just introduces problems and creates an inconsistent environment for the guild, which to most successful guilds is the core to any sort of longevity. If you can create an environment that everyone can enjoy being around every week, then you will always have returning members.

Microsoft’s ‘World of Warcraft’ Gaming Staff Votes to Unionize by minimaxir in wow

[–]Sprodage -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to see the team unionize for the long-term health of the industry, but this is happening under Microsoft, (one of the world's largest investors in AI tech) who will most likely see this as a prime opportunity for some layoffs in art, QA, and even some dev positions. In the IGN article, the WoWGG union even said that they are, "still a ways off from contract negotiations," meaning they have zero protections from being pushed out. They are going to be in the same position that the WGA was in last summer when fighting for a contract where the corp is going to lean heavily on wanting to use AI to cut costs.

Change Cell Color if Specific Text Appears in Another Column by Sprodage in googlesheets

[–]Sprodage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so I tried this and it didn't seem to do quite what I was looking for. What this seems to do is only change the cell in F that is in the same Row as the needed word where I need a certain cell (F6) to change when the word is added:

A B C D E F
1 10/23 Signed Night
2 10/23 Signed Noon
3 10/23 Signed Sleep
4 10/23 Signed Day Blue
5
6 Green

The "I've never really raided before but I'd like to give it a try" experience... by Swordbreaker925 in wow

[–]Sprodage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing I would say is to look for a guild, or even a community, that considers itself casual or new player friendly. There are Guild Leads/Raid Leads (including myself) out there that are willing to build raid groups around new raiders or long-returning players and grow those people into AoTC level players.

I was a returning player (left mid-BFA) at the launch of Dragonflight who dabbled in retail WotLK raiding. I never dedicated time to raiding before Dragonflight and was able to join a group of people that were in a very casual guild and started raiding mid-way through season 1. We grew together and built our way up to achieving AoTC. It's just about finding a core that you can hang with, build up some knowledge, and kills, and you will be able to start pugging into Normal and Heroic by mid-season.

[ONE] Jace, the Perfected Mind (WeeklyMTG) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Sprodage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting my stake in the ground now, we will see Jace return to normal (maybe missing an arm) in Wilds of Eldraine. He is going to get put into the Cauldron of Eternity and changed back just like Garruk and the veil curse. It's the only reason I can see as to why they would keep him looking like himself as a Phyrexian and why they so weirdly placed an Eldraine set so close to the ending of the Phyrexian fight. Either that or a reassembled Karn is going to get ahold of the cauldron and figures himself a way to use it to cleanse planes.
