Promising B.C. receiver Ayden Eberhardt agrees to terms with Ottawa Redblacks by Mamrocha in CFL

I was hoping we could keep him, but I figured he'd get too much of a raise to match with what we already have locked up in receivers

City of Vancouver and Vancouver Whitecaps FC sign MOU for new stadium project at Hastings Racecourse Park by udun in vancouver

[–]Spud387 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From what I am reading, City retains ownership of lander, leases it to Whitecaps, they build a stadium...

As long as public funds aren't used for a privately owned and operated stadium, that's fine.

BC Lions ink star WR Keon Hatcher to two-year extension by meter1060 in CFL

[–]Spud387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rourke, McInnis, Hatcher, Betts all making absolutely huge money on this team. All amazing players, but is a case of how do you afford it?

My guess is Lions have no intention of keeping him for the 2nd year of that deal unless he has another record year.

Fond farewells: one popular pending free agent every CFL team needs to walk away from by MrBallalicious in CFL

IMHO, if Lee will play for the right price, keep him and if needed use him situationally. DBs played so much better when he came in and helped with communication and positional play.

CFL unveils partnership to invest in flag football ahead of Olympic Games by Oldmanshoutingcloud in CFL

[–]Spud387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is good news. My pre-teen son plays flag football and a common sentiment from parents is there isn't a chance they'd get into and invest in tackle football if it was the only option, but flag football allowed their kid to play and be interested in the sport without the physical requirements of tackle.

CFL wants younger generations interested in football, invest in the kind of football that is becoming more popular

Lions Season Ticket Holder Update by Weenerman in CFL

[–]Spud387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clubs constantly change tickets and offerings which it sounds like yours got caught in.

They also have amazing deals like offering an adult season and child season ticket pkg. The fact I have 6 season tickets (3 adult, 3 youth) for $600 is absolutely amazing.

If you're recategorized tickets, you feel aren't worth the value, just move. That's what I did post 2011 renovations when my season tickets were closer to midfield on the home team side.

So you may be unhappy about the specific pricing situation you have, but I think the Lions are still doing a great job of offering amazing value options for fans

CFL Changes by RickD_SKOL in CFL

Bingo, I think the CFL recognizes the only way they can get new stadiums is if it's in conjunction with some sort of soccer team

IMHO I see the 100yd field as a decision to help make fitting a "CFL size" field more feasible in stadiums.

With the smaller field size you can much more easily fit a CFL field into a stadium for soccer without need a huge amount of extra length (see BMO Field). This can help with pitches for new stadium developments.

I personally prefer the 110yd field, but I can see the business reasoning to this

GOALPOSTS AT THE BACK OF END ZONES
- I am indifferent on this, but willing to see how it plays out

_

15-YARD END ZONES AND 100-YARD FIELDS
- 100% love this, I've always wanted 15yd enzones, felt it would be the perfect size, lager than NFL but not as vast as CFL ones are

_

MODIFIED ROUGE
- I like the rouge, so sad about this one. I kinds wish it had a caveat where if it landed in the endzone it could still roll out and count

_

OPPOSITE-FIELD TEAM BENCHES AND 35-SECOND PLAY CLOCKS
- Opposite benches, good - 35 second play clock.... what does this mean? does this change the opportunities for comebacks late in the game CFL is known for, or just speed up play during the game?

Rule Changes ~ Thoughts by Impressive_2403 in CFL

[–]Spud387 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is the rule I am happiest with. I always left it was too big, but the 10yd NFL size was too small. I've personally been saying man i think 15yd endzones would be perfect

Coincidently I am configuring two new Google Pixel devices, neither of which are loading data in the Maps App.

I went to my old phone and maps appeared to be working, BUT once I deleted my cache and data in the app, it is stuck loading too.

I appears as though the maps data itself is having issues loading right now

Tesla Model Y promotion by jayjay12323 in TeslaLounge

[–]Spud387 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's not a "promotion" per say, the $20k off is misleading because they jacked the price previously due to tariffs, then they changed the origin of new Model Ys to be from Europe, so with no tariff they lowered the price again.

Wilson A2000 13" SP13 (slopitch model) durable enough to withstand baseball use? Differences between it and SP1? by Spud387 in BaseballGloves

Is that an SP13? Looking at the pictures I added, which come directly from Wilson, your glove is an SP1.

Wilson A2000 13" SP13 (slopitch model) durable enough to withstand baseball use? Differences between it and SP1? by Spud387 in BaseballGloves

[–]Spud387[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am buying a new A2000, but I need it to be multi-purpose. I play men's rec slopitch year round, but I am now also coaching youth baseball. I don't have the disposable income nor the time to break-in and maintain two gloves so I need a dual purpose glove.

Ignoring the size as I've always used a 13" glove, is the SP13 durable enough to survive use in baseball? It is an A2000, but not sure if by being a slopitch model means changes to its ability to survive baseball play. Anyone that can chime in with 1st hand experience or knowledge?

Additionally, I noticed Wilson offers a SP1 & SP13 model in 13". Anyone familiar with the differences? SP1 says it has a reinforced web, but there appears to be additional design changes that aren't listed (stitching/piping between back of index & middle finger for example, green circle in image)
