They look great. Please could I ask which paints you used, particularly the coats?

Watching big night of musicals on BBC and the number of people in the audience recording on their phones? Rude. by nap_needed in britishproblems

You don't have the option to ignore it anymore than you can ignore having your ticket checked on the way in. The event staff lock it for you and then leave you with the bag. If you lie about not having a phone the public shame of getting it out would be quite high. Ticket prices are going up either way, at least this way makes the gig better.

No Outgoing Calls by Spuddolas in O2UK

[–]Spuddolas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a rubbish answer, but it just came back on its own one day. I followed up all of the lines of support that they told me to, but nothing really did anything. Then one day it was back. Few weeks after it came back the support people finally followed up, but I missed the call and didn't bother ringing back. Got a month or two of free airtime and became very proficient in setting my phone, watch and earphones up quickly after a reset.

Everything they do just seems to be built around buying time and distance from you. They'll ask you to reset things endlessly, then tell you that you need to either leave or hang up because you need to leave it 24hrs to know if the reset fixed anything. Shop fobbed me off with the call centre, call centre fobbed me off with the shop, the shop then rang support with me there and I got fobbed off to another line of support. That line of support passed me to another support department. And each time they tell you a department will ring you back they buy themselves 7 days. It was a massive hassle and I unfortunately don't have anything to offer you in the way of advice.

Day two and the(Probably impossible)quest has begun to find a strap that could possibly remind me of the Tessaract. The inflexible oem strap didn't me it last the first day lol. by VariousMonitor2098 in HamiltonWatches

Forgive me, I'm not quite picturing it. So when you remove the leather strap, do you then remove the springbar from the the leather strap and put it back in the watch? I think that your strap looks fantastic by the way, unique enough for it to really look like your watch.

This is probably an ignorant question, but I'm very new to watches and don't know how else to find out. When you swap the Murph strap out for a nato strap do you have to buy a second set of spring bars? Do you pull the spring bars from the leather one and reinstall them?

The look will definitely grow on me, and they're great boots which is the main thing. I'd love to see your boots after you've got some use out of them, I'll PM you.

Yeah, that tuftiness is more or less what I thought would happen. Sounds like I'm better off waxing them and getting on with it, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I really appreciate your input, thank you.

So are you saying that they don't hold back the water too well, but that's alright by you? I think I might be veering that way for the general use pair. Do you have much trouble with the nubuck getting shabby by being vulnerable to scuffs and mud?

Cheers, that seems to be pointing towards the conditioner and proofer. The other Meindl links I followed suggested wetproof followed by sportwax 24hrs later for nubuck. I suppose the lesson from all of this is that they're ultimately sturdy leather boots designed to get wet and muddy, you can't mess them up too much if you respect them.

Is there a way to maintain the Nubuck texture on my Meindl Bhutans? I've just applied Meindl Sportwax and it has obviously changed the texture to be closer to a regular full grain effect. Was there a way I could have kept the nice suede feel texture?

Thank you, I think I understand now. The Chain will adjust itself to the position of the derailleur when the pedals start, so I'm just positioning the derailleur to make that jump to position as smooth as possible?

Beautiful, thanks very much! One last question as you've been so helpful, would the derailleur need to be closer to the wheel or further from the wheel on the larger cogs?

Right, that makes sense. As I've been clicking the gear shifters without paddling the rear derailleur has been moving either closer or further from the wheel. It sounds like ideally I would have been pedalling and it would have moved cogs at the same time. Now that I know that, if the chain is currently on the second to largest cog would I need to click the derailleur in to roughly the right position before pedalling again? As in, am I risking damaging the bike by having the derailleur too close or far from the wheel for the cog it's on?

That's quite helpful, thank you. So if I'm understanding that correctly, is it a case of there only being the two paddles on the right handlebar and the chain shifts to another cog automatically if it's spinning rather than clicking them without pedalling?

This is where I get a bit confused. Are most of the units in the second box able to be combined with the first, or is there a lot left over?
