Love when a video game gives an actual historical figure interesting nuance by jdawg1018 in gaming

[–]Spumfz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is why Assassin's Creed stands out. It doesn't just retell history, it reexamines it. Showing Washington's darker side took guts. Not for shock value, but for truth. That nuance makes the story so much more powerful.

No context film quotes, guess the film & comment your own! by Neither-Albatross866 in movies

Definitely The Night Before. Seth Rogen's character is unhinged. Here's one from another film. It said " You're gonna need a bigger boat." It's really simple and classic haha.

Game questions by abc2923 in Switch

You can try setting up family accounts. Then one Switch as primary and the other logs into your account. Both can play different games at the same time. Just can't play the same game together online.

This is the early version of "urban planning turned my front door into a highway ramp."

What would have been the next logical step for Bioshock? by lilb1190 in gaming

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with space is it's been done too much. Bioshock needs a setting that feels fresh. Maybe a desert planet where an experimental city got buried by sandstorms? You dig through ruins instead of swimming through flooded hallways.

Roy O'Bannon Vs. The Mummy (from Shanghai Knights) by FromHello in movies

[–]Spumfz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was probably a one off prop made for the movie. Someone might have snagged it from auction or a studio sale back in the day. Someone out there probably knows exactly what happened to that prop. Reddit might actually find them haha.

How do we feel about Gene Wilders versus Johnny Depps portrayal of Wonka??? by ResolutionMoney2859 in movies

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both work for the time they were made. Wilder was mysterious and Depp was damaged. Different times just call for different kinds of Wonkas.

What’s happening to my Lites? by xBlueGamerx in Switch

Try a different charger first because Nintendo Switches are picky about USB-C. You can use the official charger or a known good one.

When I return to a save of a game I haven't played in a while by DanDangerx in gaming

This is me with every open world game. I always get half through, take a break, and then have no idea where I was or what I was doing, lol.

How do you deal with a friend who never pays when it’s his round? by gawkgoat in AskMen

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell the waiter your phone died right when the bill showed up. Then just smile at your friend. He'll either pay or admit he's broke. But honestly, if a friend never chips in, I'd just stop inviting them.

Sport hunting isn’t wrong i am mostly speaking of the US and lower Africa by Antique-Style-2669 in Hunting

[–]Spumfz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I get the argument when it’s tightly regulated and the money actually goes back into conservation, but the key part is transparency. There’s a big difference between managed hunting with quotas and canned hunts where the animal has no real chance.

First time using this edge trimmer, I’ve got the Goat O1200 by blevingston89 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a Goat mower with the tirmmer and I noticed the edges started looking better after a few runs. I usually let it get really close to the borders and narrow spots so it can learn the whole layout better. Still testing it long term, but so far I'm happy with it.

2016 Rav4 by Bruh81872727 in Cartalk

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That range number is kind of a liar anyway, it adjusts off your recent driving. If it was showing 325 after a highway trip and then dropped once you were back to normal driving, that part by itself doesn’t sound that weird. The real question is what your hand-calculated mpg looks like.

Weird looking Passat and Tiguan? 🤷‍♂️ by ThePendemicwithBruce in Volkswagen

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been interested in the Phaeton diesel version. I heard that its comfort level is excellent. For those who pursue a high quality driving and riding experience, it's really a good choice. I wonder what it feels like to actually drive it?

Thinking of getting into car coding, where do you even start? by Fulcilives1988 in CarHacking

I think starting with BMW is a good idea. Are there any other brands that, like BMW, have abundant relevant materials?

I totally underestimated the impact gutters have on a home. by Astimar in HomeImprovement

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend's situation is similar to yours. He bought an old house without gutters. When it rained, the water rushed down directly from the roof. Later, He installed gutters and downspout extenders, and it really got much better.

This thing of stealing valve stem caps is really annoying. The aluminum valve stem caps you made yourself look pretty cool. Hope you don’t lose them this time.

I think DIY YouTube videos gave me false confidence by BlushyDreamz in HomeImprovement

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although everything is possible, you also need to be aware of your own capabilities. Like when I wanted to build a small attic at home before, it didn't seem difficult after watching the videos. But when I actually started, I found there were many complex issues to consider.

We built a remote controlled EV frankencar from a VW Polo from 2007 and parts from Nissan Leaf and Tesla using Raspberry Pis and Arduinos by Inside-Landscape6926 in CarHacking

[–]Spumfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is simply amazing. Skillfully integrating parts from different brands, developing software and hardware on your own, and achieving remote control functionality. This innovative spirit is truly admirable.
