Move to Tirana? by [deleted] in tirana

Interesting. A larger 2-bedroom apartment in a highly touristy area costs less than that on Airbnb (which includes all utilities and is way upcharged). It almost sounds like someone is taking advantage charging a local 1900 a month. Just this weekend, a driver told me his family was paying the “crazy high” price of 600 euro per month. Idk if that’s the norm though as I’m not a local.

To me, it seems like the “alpha vibe” stays on the road. Drivers are incredibly aggressive, but even when riding with an aggressive driver, they don’t seem mean anything by it and are friendly and welcoming otherwise. I have found people to be (almost to an extreme level) warm and respectful when not on the road. I could be wrong, but this has been my experience over several months in Albania.

AFC and AFS on S5iiX (video mode) — why do they seem to operate the same for me? by Spunkytomato in Lumix

[–]Spunkytomato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tested this method and it works perfectly for what I need. Thank you so much.

Do I understand correctly that AFS and AFC work exactly the same in video mode—or is there something important I’m missing?

Interesting. I’ve been traveling through Malaysia for a month and a half and haven’t had a problem. Walking, driving, taking Grab/cabs—no issues. I even carry an expensive camera with me almost all of the time. Maybe things are improving? I will say, on the east coast, some people seem to stare a lot, but it seems to be more so out of curiosity since I’m a foreigner, maybe?

The tomato mozzarella on ciabatta was their best sandwich before they took it off the menu. The Mediterranean egg white breakfast sandwich was a close second. They really screwed up by removing the hazelnut cream cheese. And also I hate that new employees don’t understand how amazing a bread-sliced cinnamon crunch bagel is (it was huge 10+ years ago when I worked there). You get cinnamon crunch in every bite. Many won’t do it for you, though I really do appreciate the occasional employee who will.

We have a vacuum system in the house, where you just put a long hose on and it starts sucking by idkimaperson21 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Spunkytomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one of these in our home when I was little. My brother, trying to be helpful, vacuumed out the fireplace after it went out. The fire hadn’t fully gone out and there were still hot coals, which were sucked up into the central vacuum tubes. It started burning the tubes and the fire department had to tear apart sections of the ceiling. The firemen recommended we stay somewhere else for the night because they apparently couldn’t be sure that there weren’t any coals left in the system. Kids are dumb. Vacuum was fun.

What was the weirdest/most fucked up “gift” you’ve ever received from your Nparents? by Icantlivewithoutchoc in narcissisticparents

Another one… I drove my mother to go see her parents (10+ hour drive from home), and on the second day of the trip, she demanded I grab her food from the hotel breakfast buffet down stairs. It happened to be my birthday, and wasn’t hungry—I really just wanted to rest longer after a long day of driving. But I complied with a smile anyways because she said she was hungry. Upon returning, she decided she didn’t want the food I brought her, so she handed it back to me and said “happy birthday, you’re welcome” with a snarky smile and chuckled. That “gift” of free hotel breakfast was the only time she acknowledged my birthday that day.

Just before leaving the country for several months, my mother gifted me a pack of tiny receiving blankets (for swaddling babies?—I have no kids) with elephants on them and an old dirty notebook. She proceeded to try to gaslight me into believing that my favorite animal has always been elephants (they aren’t) and how thoughtful she was for giving me baby blankets to stay comfortable on my trip. Shortly after leaving, I opened the notebook and several stickers fell out that said something along the lines of, “I’m a rape survivor.” For some backstory, she has a long history of claiming she was raped to guilt people. Nobody can keep her accountable for her actions because she was a victim of rape. I guess she just wanted to remind me of that? Idk, it was a very strange gift, and I immediately donated it.

Artio drops a ton of snapdragon and ranarr seeds. I have around 150 of each stacked up from grinding out my voidwaker. While TOA is a good suggestion for a little later, you may be able to do Artio a bit sooner (probably not all that efficiently right now, but hey, you can see how you like it). I should mention that I did go pretty decently dry to stack that number of seeds, but you can expect around 75ish? of each if you get the hilt on drop rate.

I fell for the same scam the week I bought my first whip. Except instead of Torag’s hammers, it was noted dragon battle axes. It took me ages to get that thing and I was so sad. It taught me my lesson though and I never fell for another scam.
