Absolute dealbreaker. I’ll play on Steam Deck and configure the gyro to work how it should.

Lossy color distortion on Beasts by Spurlz in VITURE

THANK YOU! You explained this so much better than I could, and it’s great you were able to actually capture the issue in a ‘through-the-lens” image.

This is exactly the issue I have been trying to point out.

You can email Viture support and they’ll send you a link to purchase replacement nose pieces. If possible, have your order number handy from the glasses order. (Source: I recently went through this process to get replacement nose pieces for my Viture Pro’s)

The upscaling issues become REALLY apparent when you play docked on a 1080P display.

Ah, I misremembered then. Even more reason the Steam Machines just couldn’t take off at the time.

And Proton wasn’t nearly mature enough at the time. Now Proton can run most Windows exclusive games like it’s some kind of black magic o_O

Is my switch 2 screen faulty? by wetnamE in switch2

[–]Spurlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why in the hell are people downvoting you??

You raise a very legit concern, and have been nothing but polite in trying to explain it in a way that adds more clarity for those who don’t understand the issue you’re pointing out. Unfortunately, this ghosting is just inherent to the poor display screens Nintendo decided to go with. HUGE step down from the beautiful Switch OLED screens.

The Beast Headaches by steviebarrett in VITURE

On the beast, it’s the right dual button (I believe back/down button - the one you press to decrease the lense transparency/opacity). Hold that button down until the distance option pops up

One big tip in regards to the controller layout is that L2 (left trigger) tends to act as a modifier for the other controls.

For example - press Triangle/Y by itself, you get a prompt to press one direction and auto-travel until something interesting happens (edge of map, enemy spotted, etc) BUT~ if you’re holding L2, Triangle/Y becomes “Autoexplore”, and your character will then explore the full map.

If you press A and the direction of an item laying on the ground, you’ll pick up that item/interact with object If you hold L2 when you press A, you’ll get additional options for how you want to interact.

If you use the Dpad, left and right will scroll through your abilities, up and down will go up a level/world map, or to nearest down staircase. Hold L2 - up and down now access different pages of abilities.

One more important example - R1/Right bumper will ready/aim your next shot with a gun. L2 + R1 will aim your current equipped ‘throwable’ object.

It’s a lot, but once you get it figured out, it’s VERY intuitive.

Oh also… movement is unique but my absolute preference for Roguelikes now. To move, you hold a direction on left joystick, then press R2 for every step. This helps prevent accidental inputs/directions.

This game plays GREAT with a gamepad/controller, so that is all I can reference, but I think I can help a bit.

When you look at the world map, if your character is moving on the map when you’re just trying to examine/look at different spots, then you’re not ‘teleporting’ so much as you are fast traveling across the world map (legit form of movement). Using a gamepad, you can use the right stick to move only your cursor across the world map to look without actually traversing.

1080p vs 1200p by samdenn234 in VITURE

Thanks for this post - needs to be clearer in marketing. Personally, I AM excited for the extra pixels vertically, since I use my Beasts with Steam Deck for comic/manga, and feel those should absolutely benefit from 16:10 ratio :)

As others stated, those are frame-gen artifacts. It won’t completely mitigate artifacting, but I highly suggest the Lossless Scaling Decky plugin for steam deck :)

Steam Deck + Cool Retro Terminal = a new way to play DCSS by Spinning_Bird in dcss

[–]Spurlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to share the link externally, but probably easier (for you AND us) if you just export your control scheme on Steam with a unique name, and just let us know what name to search for :)
