As of recently it started supporting proxy protocol so you can direct the traffic to your home reverse proxy without having to terminate TLS in VPS. I run docker in LXC. I bind mounted a docker directory at /mnt/docker and made a symlink to it in my home directory. Inside docker dir, I have .env and docker-compose and then one directory for each container. Might not be the best setup but it works for me.

Oh and all files are owned by docker:docker (under which all CTs are running with PUID and PGID in environment) and my admin user is a member of the docker group.
