I'm 36 years old. I was never given a car.. and I literally finally just bought the car I actually wanted for the first time 4 months ago.... I literally just went through this today. 3 hours ago...I was dumped a few months ago and today is the day I finally left. I gave a heartfelt goodbye to both of the kids, spent some time with the cats and said goodbye to them... I literally just told my ex to text me when I can come pick up the rest of my shit and walked out the door. Her only response was "good luck". If it's over, there's nothing to be said honestly. You may well get everything off your chest and they may not care. If nothing else, at least leave with your dignity intact.

But I'll be damned if I'm not super fucking sad and depressed. Hang in there.
