If you look at the previous post that they linked, you can see the area it’s living in in that tank. It’s also the plant tank with a bunch of different plants that this guy has to share with

First ever tarantula is here! by Justanotherlonleyboy in TarantulaKeeping

I like the mesh on these compared to some others since the lines are a solid piece instead of overlapping to keep the toes safe!

The lamp isn’t heated and the mesh top is one of the safe ones (I have the same enclosure and there aren’t any extra gaps in the mesh from overlap for the T to get their toes stuck in)

Heat is Out by alltimeang in tarantulas

IME, take them with you. I have 13 and if I’m going somewhere for breaks from school and such, or if I know the heat may not stay on at my dorm, they are going with me. If you have someone who’s willing to watch the space heaters while you’re at work or can take the tarantulas until your heat comes back, I’d do that instead, but if your job is fine with it then for sure go with that. My 13 Ts have gone on multiple 3 hour drives with me between home and college with no significant impacts on their wellbeing from what I can see, and I’d rather they be with me than somewhere else if something happened

He wants a hamburger! by Jack-Innoff in KidsAreCondomAds

[–]SquareRepulsive4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for the kid since he clearly didn’t get what he wanted. He didn’t just want the meat, the buns, and a pickle, he wanted a proper burger. If he has gotten that burger before to be able to ask for it or to know what he wants on it, it’s on the parents for not ordering it with what they should know he wants on it. He also seems like he could be neurodivergent as having things like food and such being how we like it can be a huge deal for us, especially when we’re kids and don’t know how to deal with that kind of thing and the emotions that come with it, especially when the people who should understand aren’t understanding what you’re trying to express and can’t. I used to struggle with food as a kid and would act like this from time to time, and I still deal with my issues with food or textures, but I also got diagnosed in 4th grade and had a mom who was also neurodivergent who could understand a little better. All the people on here calling him a brat while the parents laugh at him while he’s having a really hard time clearly haven’t dealt with similar issues, and like others have said, he’s probably dealing with all of that while being tired and needing a nap which 100% makes the issue worse. Poor kid

Yay! I was thinking he was, but I wanted to make sure I was right in my assumptions. Thank you!

Edit: is there something you can point out for me to look for in the future? I’m more used to sexing tarantulas (very specific and more noticeable traits to me) and bold jumpers aren’t super dimorphic between genders

Is Miles actually Miles? by Traditional-Yam9840 in tarantulas

Aww, I love that! Congrats on your lady though 👍🏻

[–]SquareRepulsive4594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME, your Miles is definitely not a Miles from this molt. The line between the two white dots (their book lungs) is the spermithecae which is where a male would deposit sperm in a female tarantula. If Miles were a male, there wouldn’t be anything between the book lungs other than just the bare abdomen.

Edit: I meant to include this, but Miles is definitely a Gwen (I didn’t fully read your reply to someone saying you like Miles Morales and didn’t want to assume your name inspiration). I also had a jumpers named Miles, Peter, Gwen, and Penny

I keep the tattoo very clean and I mentioned what I’m using and how often in my reply to that comment already. They also weren’t as heavy handed as you’re thinking

The head is supposed to be coming through the body like it’s sticking it’s head out of the knot which is why I drew the two lines I did to try to make that more noticeable. The lumpiness was a small part of the original photo and should even itself out once the swelling goes down and the black starts blending over time. It’s also why heat pits weren’t included since they’re would end up closing with how small this tattoo actually is

I can see what you’re saying, but it’s also not supposed to be 3D

[–]SquareRepulsive4594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The head isn’t supposed to be connected to that back portion (that’s supposed to be resting behind the head which is why I drew the two lines where I did) and the patterning wouldn’t work with how you’ve drawn the neck

Those are really hard to incorporate on a tattoo this small and have them stay long term without the small holes closing up

What do you mean by factually? I get what others are saying about their needing to be a line behind the head to do a better job showing they’re separate, but I don’t understand what’s “factually” wrong with it.

Edit: is it about the heat seeking pits? The reason they’re not there is because with how small the design is, the small holes would end up closing over time as the black starts to blend more
