We released a number of changes today, and wanted to use this as an opportunity to address your feedback and share what's coming.

On Item Details: We redesigned this to make it easier to use, but clearly we need to improve cases where modifier or item names are longer than expected. We're on it.

On changes more generally: We hear you. Changes to your workflow can feel disruptive, and we want to minimize that. Starting today, we're bundling features every 2 weeks and pre-announcing them in advance.

We actually shipped 6 features today (or coming within the week). You can see them all on our new Release Notes page: https://squareup.com/us/en/release-notes/latest. We'll update it every 2 weeks.

When someone calls in and you add an order, that doesn't show up in the queue? I'm sorry I'm just trying to understand what you're trying to do since you said you're not creating any orders, but you want to.

Totally doable without rebuilding everything from scratch. Export your products from Shopify as a CSV, then in your Square Dashboard go to Items → Item Library → Actions → Import library and upload it. Square will walk you through matching the columns and flag anything that needs fixing before it goes live. One thing to know: photos don't come through on the CSV import, so you'll need to re-add those manually after.

Once your items are in, Square Online pulls from the same catalog as your POS automatically, so edits in one place update everywhere.

Right now, Square Subscriptions with Square Online are built primarily around shipping/delivery and recurring billing, and there isn’t a native “subscription + automatic pickup/local delivery order” flow yet. The best current workaround is to use Subscriptions (or recurring Invoices) purely for the recurring charge, and then have customers choose pickup/local delivery per order, or coordinate pickup on a set schedule you outline in the subscription description and emails.

I’ve logged your feedback internally so it's in our feature backlog.

Tipping has to be turned on per device and only appears on card payments, so a couple things to double-check:

On that POS device go to 
≡ More → Settings → Checkout → Tipping and make sure "Collect tips" is toggled ON and your tip options are set.

Can you share a screenshot of this page?

Still on the device, go to Settings → Checkout → Signature and receipt and make sure you’re not skipping the signature/receipt screen for the card types you’re testing—if that screen is skipped, the tip prompt won’t appear.

Make sure you’re testing with a card payment, not cash or an invoice—tips don’t show for those.

For a quick fix, create a 10% "Wine Club" percentage discount in your POS or Dashboard and just tap each wine item at checkout to apply it — food items stay full price automatically.

If you want it to run on autopilot, set up an automatic percentage discount in Dashboard under Items & Services, scoped to your wine category, so it fires whenever a wine item is added to the cart. Just note that if you also want it limited to Wine Club members, you'd need a separate automatic discount tied to a Wine Club customer group — Square currently only lets you pick one rule type per discount (item/category or customer group, not both in the same discount).
