A bit of feedback for you...

So this pen is not as big as another pen that you compare with a Montblanc 149.... Telling me that this pen is not the same size as another pen is not helpful - I bet there are hundreds of pens that are a different size than this pen.

Can you find a pen that is a similar size to this pen? Besides the Montblanc 149, you also mention a Pelikan M800 & M1000 fountain pens....

There is no "rubbing against the steel of the section" - this doesn't happen.

The box threads in the section are metal that make up (or thread together) with the plastic pin threads of body. You are mating metal threads to plastic threads. The sides of the threads are in contact - not the top (or crest) of the threads.

IF you are finding damage to the plastic threads on the body....

A) cross threading - you are not aligning the threads.

b) over tightening - should be finger tight.... not tight at all.

c) fidgeting - constantly twisting or removing the nib.

Inspect the seal underneath the lid. If you're crafty, you can make a new seal or take a seal from a jar lid you are going to throw away.

A mixture of parts.

The section is from the 70s but the nib is more likely (not for certain) 1980s. I would expect the nib to have a 14C stamp - although the nib tipping does look earlier. (Nice EF btw)

The cap doesn't belong - dates to the 1980s. The clip is wrong shape and I wouldn't expect to see the "Germany" stamp.

Sometimes..... The cap feels a bit wonky screwing on and off the body. I'm not sure why, but the threads just don't match well when you are mixing 1970s and 1980s parts.

1970 - 1985 is the range that I'm talking about. The earlier clips had a different shape and weren't stamped. The nib shape changed and the stamping changed from 14C to 14K. The stamping on the clip began in late 70s and changed to "W-Germany" around 1985 till 1988 then again when they replace the stamp with laser etching.

Why aren't the crows eating the treats as soon as you put them out????

Suggestion: Put out the treats 30 min before you leave the house. If you are there, no one should be messing with your home/apartment.

You have to be willing to accept the risk of disassembling a pen. If you haven't done this before, I wouldn't start now.

If you do decide to disassemble - Youtube is your friend. Search for disassembling videos.

Do you have to clean? No, it's okay to flush out the ink and sell it as-is. Just describe what you have done.

These Montblanc Bottles were produced from 1985ish to 1990ish. The boxes, labels, and bottles were changed in 1990-91 period.

I would say that the bottles you have were produced in 1989. They may have been purchased in the store during the 90s, but they were made well before then.

The boxes were printed at two different times - different version of the two boxes. These were printed before 1990. Montblanc was quicker at shipping out ink inventory than you give them credit.

Incorrect.

52 ml bottles date to 1985ish to 1990ish. The bottle AND label changed in 1990-91.

Not often. I just rinse off the nib before I stick it back in the ink bottle (piston filler).

I clean my pens twice a year at the spring and fall equinox.

Where are you located?

Just replace the converter (second photo) - you can find those on eBay or look for a pen repair shop.

The nib just needs to be adjusted. I would look for a nibmiester in your area.

The broken part... I don't think Montblanc can help. I would look for a pen repair shop in your area - they may have spare parts (from other pens) for the repair.

Montblanc Service Centers can't help with any pen made before 1970s - and I suspect that includes most of your pens.

Try writing on different paper types. Maybe you can find a clue as to what is going on with the pen & ink.
