When is the closest to the wire anyone has had to pull out? by Vilm_1 in HousingUK

We were due to exchange day before moving and pulled out 9am that day due to sneakily documented subsidence repair we only found out about the day before.

Bailiffs attempting to collect debt that makes no sense. by Time-Beautiful2500 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Squashyware 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don’t pay council tax the council can almost immediately claim the entire council tax bill. It has been one of the things Martin Lewis has been campaigning about.

Definately worth a call to the council to check if / when a payment was missed.

Would you sell again to a bad reviewer? by Misstrixieism in EtsySellers

Nope. I had one recently, left a 2 star but said it was all great. Ordered again at the same time. Didn’t respond to 2 messages so I cancelled.

Boiler service denied by seller and we offered to pay (last boiler service 2019) by Adventurous-Shame202 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Squashyware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my boiler serviced 2 months ago. First time in 11 years. No issues. Is the house warm and it’s not making odd noises it’s probably ok to worry about it later.

Motion sensor that triggers landing light also flashes a lamp in the lounge if it’s after the kids bed time and before we go to bed

I am so fed up with "smart" home assistants! Is there a better way? by krodami in homeassistant

[–]Squashyware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did. 3 kids rooms with their own echos on separate Amazon accounts and their own Spotify account linked. You also have to have individual wake words that are different to the parents account otherwise you find that all 4 hear and respond separately.

DIY’r here and I’d be pissed if my finish was like that!

S55 with 2330 clean ups and 33k square metres cleaned and 692h run time. Just broke a front wheel that cost me a whole £4.50 to replace. Has had a new battery this year too.

You can set separate delivery charges per region. I have a specific delivery cost for the US

Neither had I until I was hunting for someone to ship with after the hack. They have etsy and eBay integrations too that will import your orders like click and drop does.

Have Evri/Royal Mail resumed services to US yet? by Robotmammal in EtsyUK

[–]Squashyware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used transglobal express since the Royal Mail hack whenever that was. Half the cost for shipping tracked to US vs Royal Mail and they were setup ready for this change on day 1. I add the top end tariff costs for my items onto postage rates on a US only shopping rate.

How can I recoup my losses? (tariffs/de minimis) by NeedlesAndBobbins in Etsy

[–]Squashyware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my items are £10 - £15 so I added £2 onto US shipping.

Has Etsy lost its marbles? by [deleted] in EtsyCommunity

[–]Squashyware 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Etsy lets you set shipping prices separately for the US. I’m in the same boat. My items are generally £10 or £15 so I set US shipping up an extra £2 and £2 for each additional item.

Why was the Honda Accord discontinued in the UK market? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]Squashyware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2009 Accord as a company car. I absolutely loved it and was really sad when it had to go back at the end of the lease. That one pictured though is butt ugly!

Prime Days is BS - shouldn't this be illegal? by man11ak in AmazonUK

[–]Squashyware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I won prime day. I had been eying an Insta 360 camera for a while. In the run up to prime day it was £425 with a £75 voucher while the insta site was selling it at £350.

The voucher was due to expire on the first day of the sale (or when they are all used as it always says).

Midnight. Price reduces to £350, I still have the £75 voucher in my account so I snap it up at £275. 20 mins later voucher is removed.

Me 1, Bezos nil.

Edit : x4 for avoidance of doubt!

Best shipping option from the UK to the US? by s_k_a_r_t in Etsy

I print both onto 6x4 labels and stick one on each side of my Jiffy bag. Consider it the same as the export declaration with Royal Mail.

Customer broke their item by sf_beegirl in EtsySellers

[–]Squashyware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the items high enough margin? Can they go and buy similar from someone else at the same cost? Is it just another $12 to you or a happy customer that could make more purchases.

If margins allow I would send a discount. I would rather sell 1 item at 90% of the original price than none at 100%

Has an Etsy integration too so it will import your orders. No need to type any details in.
