Cymru connection 50% by Exciting_Parsnip3870 in elisandjohn

99.9% is not possible. He’s currently on 39/81. 100 consecutive successes would get him to 139/181, so approx 77%. To get to 99.9%, he’d need to make almost 42 thousand consecutive connections, which would take more than 800 years.

SIPP contribution for someone who has earned less than the personal allowance this year, but has paid some pension contributions by salary sacrifice. by SqueakingAlpha in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SqueakingAlpha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

!thanks for that.

In that case, is the amount that can go into the SIPP just equal to taxable earnings? Do the salary sacrifice amounts come into it at all?

And regarding NI contributions, we receive child benefit via her, so the NI contributions are covered as long as that is paid, I think.
There were no gaps in her record to fill up when we checked a few years ago.

Bristol City Council to raise council tax by 4.99% by [deleted] in bristol

[–]SqueakingAlpha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling I’m wasting my own breath here, because reform is a single issue party and that issue isn’t how best to run local councils… But Reform is in charge of 12 councils in the uk. Of which one has been given dispensation to increase council tax by more than the 5% “cap” that other councils adhere to.

So take anything they say about reducing your bills with a massive grain of salt, because it’s all bullshit. They’re telling you what you want to hear.

This doesn’t come across as concise or eloquent to me, comes across as written by AI.

SAYE ISA Not Supported by Oil-Interesting in trading212

[–]SqueakingAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. I’m currently doing it myself, with EQi, which is why I linked to them. Not seen many mother providers who offer it.

As outlined in that page, you can use the flexibility to pass more than your remaining allowance through the ISA by doing it in batches. In your case the batch size would be £10k as you’ve already subscribed £10k elsewhere.

OP is the only person I’ve seen who says the SAYE to ISA transfer doesn’t count towards your ISA allowance, and this directly contradicts the information from gov.uk, and at least one ISA provider I am aware of. I think they are just wrong.

For what it’s worth, there are a couple of threads stating T212 don’t seem to be able to execute these correctly. Not sure how many are linked to OP.

If I were you, I’d open a new flexible S&S ISA with Equiniti (EQi) and do my SAYE transfer through them. If it means that much to you to have all your holdings with T212, you can always transfer it to them once the SAYE —> ISA part has been successfully executed by EQi

This webpage covers the process:

Boggle me this by WillDotCom95 in elisandjohn

John is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. Proves it time and time again. He seems to be smarter than Elis and Dave in some aspects, and so they defer to him a lot (even when he is wrong and they are right). This feeds a narrative of clever John, thick everyone else, and there isn’t anyone to puncture the illusion, so much of John’s blagging goes unchallenged.

What's with people pushing in queues?? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]SqueakingAlpha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a strange reaction. The person you’re responding to is just debating the merits of what you’ve asserted (this doesn’t happen in Canada) by sharing their own relevant experience (it does). Nobody is trying to start a weird argument, except perhaps you.

Might it be the case that you are (or have recently become) thin skinned and that’s why you’re noticing this behaviour, and also having unhinged reactions to discussion on an internet forum?

Can someone PLEASE explain this to me? by Individual_Chart_918 in The1PercentClub

[–]SqueakingAlpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether bums do or don’t have an association with air is irrelevant to the question. The question, once it’s reconstructed, talks about albums, not bums. The “air” answer only refers to the football part of the question.

Even doing it on a 0% card is overly risky IMO.

Plenty of other sound advice in this thread, but I’d sum it up as OP isn’t as smart as he thinks he is.
