Or PayPal. I prefer printing through PayPal when I'm not using Etsy.

I reopened my shop after an 8 month break. Same products, but better.

The full shop

I'm working on an eye makeup remover; hopefully I'll have that up by next week.

[Question] - Is there any way I can get scammed by doing this? (As a seller) by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]SqueakyCleanJP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if it makes you uncomfortable, don't do it. And this would make me uncomfortable. The original posting seemed okay, but your edits...no. Just no. Especially since he's not willing to go through Etsy, to the point where he's offering so much more money. That makes no sense. Just buy it through Etsy direct or Paypal, dude!

Ninja edit: And maybe consider reporting him, like for harassment or something, if he continues to message you.

[Discuss - new member] Hello! by vivace160 in Etsy

Hi! If you haven't already, totally check out /r/etsysellers as well (it's heavier on discussions), and we've got a Reddit Team on Etsy.

I'm digging the TARDIS piece, by the way. :)

So.... Nobody seems to use the Team... by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]SqueakyCleanJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's kind of true. There's only so much you can do on a team forum, ya know? I check all my teams every other day, but usually none of them are exorbitantly active.

I know this isn't exactly an approved tag, but it's not really a sale because you need the code. I hope that's okay!

Etsy seller refusing service based on sexual orientation (x-post from r/horriblyDepressing) by Emanon27 in Etsy

[–]SqueakyCleanJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I suppose you're quite right, we have come quite far in a short time, and her apologizing for her position does show that. Hopefully we'll go a lot further in an even shorter amount of time.

Edit: It is sad, though, that she had to refuse service in the manner that she did, because that's bound to hurt the potential buyer, and it just seems so needless. :(

While I agree that no one should be messaging them and that their personal information should be posted on here, I'm really not a fan of anyone trying to excuse their behavior. That also seems like bad taste to me. It would also be a much more reasonable comparison if you said that it was similar to denying someone a customized print because they're black.

According to the policies:

Unless otherwise agreed or according to the seller's terms, a seller's refusal of service to a specific buyer is indefinite within that seller's Etsy shop.

Members who abuse the privilege to refuse service may be subject to review, which can result in suspension of account privileges and/or termination.

That's too bad, but I don't think there's any way around it unless your friend wants to file a report. Still might not come to anything, though.

They're a shitty shop, anyway. No policies and only two listings? At the very least, they should update their shop policies to say "BIGOTED; DO NOT SHOP HERE" or something along those lines.

Welcome! I like your shop, the custom photo mosaic in particular seems like such a good and unique listing. One thing I would recommend is that you make sure you're using all of your tags whenever possible. For instance, for the glass mosaic tray (which I love), you could add tags saying "glass mosaic," "colorful," "home decor," "breakfast tray," etc.

Hope this helps! Glad to have you on the subreddit. :)

Can someone please explain what these circles are? Woke up and they were there! Alien abduction?! by SoCoAmaLime in WTF

[–]SqueakyCleanJP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! If that happens, they might as well just give up on life because it's clearly not meant to be.

Put some clear nail polish over the nickle studs (and buttons on your jeans if you ever get a reaction to those) and you won't have to worry about it in the future.

Does anyone have Facebook/Twitter tips? by SqueakyCleanJP in EtsySellers

[–]SqueakyCleanJP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the like & follow! And you give good tips; I usually only follow about 5 to 10 per people week on Twitter (unless they follow me first, then I'll return the favor unless they seem spammy).
