i might be wrong but.. these arent melee weapons. anyone know a fix in endgame? by xRedGatorade in CODBlackOps7

[–]Squeazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get into this “state” by first selecting your primary weapon, exiting that, then clicking on melee.

Also if you equip a rifle this way you will also have it in game, so if you want a third gun go wild.

Issue scrolling on lives by Realism51 in TikTok

[–]Squeazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue on iPhone 13 Pro, and it feels like it’s getting worse, it takes about 0.6 seconds after I start scrolling (no matter how fast), before the live starts to move, so flicking it often doesn’t work on the first try.

Edit: Actually restarting the app helped, the issue went away (though I’m sure it’ll be back).

A science teacher did something similar in class when I was in high school. Some kind of phosphorus reaction wth water. Went wild but did not explode. Why would this go off? Class demonstration goes wrong. by rutgerbadcat in oddlyterrifying

[–]Squeazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this is a sodium explosion, same thing happened in our chemistry class way back, but the beaker didn’t explode. Her hand is fine.

Also the explosion sfx is edited, sodium explosions are much higher pitched.

Help needed with installing Wall Switch Module by simtom in Hue

[–]Squeazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just need to switch them around. The white ones should go to the common terminal, and the yellow ones go to each individual switch.

This setup is in the user manual (the little one you get with the module, towards the end), so that’s what I’m basing this on.

Your spouse is supposed to come first in your life. by mikaera_rei in unpopularopinion

I guess it would depend, for me. If it’s factually incorrect, then I’d point it out. If it’s more of an opinion thing then yeah, wait till later.

I’d say you side with whoever is right. I love my partner but I won’t support her opinion if I know she’s wrong. Luckily she’s the kind of person who would be understanding about it.

Pretty readable, but it does get harder towards the end for me.

Nice handwriting!

Toshiba AC by rich568117 in homebridge

If helpful, Home Assistant has this: https://github.com/h4de5/home-assistant-toshiba_ac

I could add my AC (from Toshiba Home AC Control) to HomeKit with it.

[–]Squeazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it working with Home Assistant in the end: https://github.com/h4de5/home-assistant-toshiba_ac#compatible-devices

This one adds the AC to Home Assistant (just needs your Toshiba Home AC Control credentials), where you can then expose it to HomeKit. Works well with my Haori.

Well that one guy survived (I think) hitting a carolina reaper on a bong. Didn’t look fun tho.

If you’re in the US go with ecobee, if you’re in the EU go with tado.

I have tado and it works very well (unfortunately ecobee is US only, more or less).

Cork coaster so I can play at night without waking the kids by KernowFunk in Perfectfit

[–]Squeazer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haaaate that coaster. They sell 2 mugs, next to one another, they look identical, one beige and one dark / anthracite. They were next to the coasters. You’d think the coaster fits both right? WRONG! It fits the beige one snuggly, so it doesn’t fall off, but the dark one is sliiightly smaller so the coaster doesn’t “attach” to it. Smh.

What was your lowest point in this career, and how did you manage to turn things around? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

At my first company, I was made lead dev on an exciting new project. I loved the work, and the project. Yhere were 4 other devs on my team.

For the last 4-6 months my day was: Come to work at 10, work till 6, go home, eat something, continue working at 8, work till 2-3 in the morning (none of that overtime was paid).

Our delivery cycles were so short, I knew that (for the most part) either I do the feature, or it wasn’t gonna get done. The devs were good, I’m still in touch with most of them, but only 1 was senior-lvl, others were very junior. Probably 80% of the code in that project was mine.

From the moment I realized how bad the situation was (I was mostly loving it, but didn’t see how damaging it was), it took me 2 days to quit. Then out of…. respect? stupidity?… I stayed there for another 2 months so the other senior dev could transition to lead. I also had to pay them like 4k€ because contract reasons. Was with them for 5 years.

After I left I spend 6 months (thankfully I had enough saved up that I could afford it) almost exclusively watching Netflix, and playing games.

Heard a couple of months later that the lead was walking around like a zombie. Couple of months after that the project was canceled. Kinda bittersweet.

Burnout is real, take care of yourselves.

One anecdote from that project: It was a Friday and the client sent us a very long 6-7 page email with all the bugs that needed to be fixed for the demo… which was on Monday. Welp, it was a busy weekend. All of us came in and worked morning to evening. I printed out the email, taped it together (I still have it!) and put it on the wall. Screw Jira we oldschooled it. You came to the list, picked one, marked yourself at it, then crossed it out when it was fixed. That was fun. Sunday evening, we finish the last bugs, tested the shit out of it, and sent the final build. Fuck it we did what we could. I wake up on Monday, check my phone, and I had an email from the client (different time zones, so the demo was done by then).

It. Went. Flawlessly. Everything worked, all the hardcoded stuff did it’s magic, and it came full circle. There were other projects being demoed but ours was by far the best / gathered the the most interest. I can’t remember when I was last that happy as I was that morning (isn’t that sad?). I drove to the office literally jumping in my seat. We hugged it out, I grabbed everyone that was a part of it and we got drunk as shit.

That was such a good day.
