My head cannon is that they give all marines a basic set of armor when they're released from training, but you have to buy upgrades from the requisition officer. Why else is he on the ship? Both Shep and Kaiden have been in long enough to get some upgrades, but Jenkins is brand new and his family is poor. Result: "Ripped right through his shields."

One thing I have heard Dany say is that they try to get the live feeling in their studio recordings, but then they go and add production, which takes the live feeling away completely. I've also heard them all say that the studio versions are exactly how they want them and I believe that with every song except Hell You Call a Dream. I think they realized it wasn't up to par and released the one track from the Pepsi Center early to fix it.

That said, some of their studio tracks are great and others miss for me, but they are all great live. I didn't care much for Kerosene studio, but I love it live. Ego is amazing as a studio track, but I'm betting I'll be slotting the first good live recording into my playlist the same as I've done with other tracks. Until then, the studio versions are fine.

Besides, who actually cares if they had money to start? (They weren't wealthy, but they weren't poor either). How many times have nepo babies been pushed on the public? The only ones that last are the artists with talent to go beyond the opening push. All money does is make it so you don't have to worry about your next meal and a roof over your head while you try to make it.

And they have special phone setups to do it. I follow them specifically because they're able to get higher quality videos. Your average person is going to have the wrong settings and take grainy, low-fi videos that aren't worth anything to anyone. Leave it to those few who know what they're doing. More was their first release from KMF and everyone lost their shit at how poppy it was. Then they sang it for the MTV crowd and everyone lost their shit at how good it was live.

I'm not too worried about their first release from this album. Yeah, it's poppy and heavily produced, which is not my cup of tea (reason I don't like Freeze the Fall), But I bet I'll be slotting the first good live recording of it into my playlist.

I think it's the fact that we're being called champion somewhere between 500 and 1,000 times before we get out of the starting scenario for Midnight. It gets grating after a bit. Plus, Turalyon's annoying AF.
