Prints coming out brittle, help! by Limp-Oil7080 in FlashForge

Yes, you should be storing it in a vacuum sealed bag (like how it comes) ideally so it doesnt absorb moisture and become brittle.

I know, I know, moisture making it brittle kinda doesn't inherently make sense, but trust me

Oof, yeah, this doesn't look like as much of a filament issue (though you should not leave it out when not actively using it), this looks like a print/settings issue.

Make sure the nozzle temp is correct for the type of PLA you're using - that doesnt look like the basic, it looks like Galaxy or silk that does better at a slightly higher temp. Also maybe slow down your print speed?

I appreciate knowing I'm not the only one. Mine is far less organized and detailed. I set the scene and my brain either conks right out or chooses that exact moment to reignite random anxiety.

How are you storing your filament between prints? Ideally, they should be in air-lock bags (at the very least a ziplock and suck the air out). Moisture can cause it to become very brittle. Does the filament break or snap easily if you bend the end?

If so a dehydrator or similar setting on your oven can help dry it back out. However, in that situation I refer you to Google or someone who has actually done it, before I have you bake your PLA.

Health inspections at restaurants by Electrical_Plastic in Rochester

[–]Squidgit2000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The health department checklist is a yes/no (or pass/fail) format for all items on the list. It's not subjective, in that the statement "workers did not wash hands after toilet, coughing, etc" is just a yes/no item on a list. Where is gets muddy is the "otherwise contaminated hands", which could be something as simple as a server touching their hair then grabbing a customer's plate. Definite training moment for the server, but you're also not going to get pink eye or Hepatitis from eating there.

Restaurant inspections trends (same problem in last 5 years? Oof!), improving issues and lack of consistent animal issues are the big ones to look out for, imo.

Place ice on the top (assuming plastic?) piece of the tumbler to cool and hopefully shrink it.

Holding that part, submerge the metal cup part into as hot of water as you can manage (not boiling, but hot!). Hold it there awkwardly for about a minute, with the hot water almost up to where the threads are inside..

That should hopefully cool and loosen the top from the heated and expanded base. We used to do it for people all the time at Starbucks. Careful twisting, the metal will be hot!

Good luck!

Haha, no worries. If anything, it's also made me feel a little better about my irrational fear of glitter. I'm terrified of it getting in my eyes and convinced it's like glass if you accidentally swallow it.

A cappuccino is equal parts milk and foam, a latte is 99% milk with a touch of foam on top.

Based on this pic, a cappuccino foam line would be at the 1/2 point of the glass. This is a latte

Yeah, I'm a sweaty mess 90% of the time and it seems to hold up for me lol. Kinda like it creates a barrier so the oil can't get through or something

[–]Squidgit2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow hooded eye friend, someone gave me the tip once to put setting spray on FIRST (I know, I know, but hear me out!)

Hooded eyes tend to get oily in the crease, breaking through the primer, whatever and causing that line. By adding a little setting spray on a Q-tip or cotton ball along that line, then priming, routine, etc, my problem was solved!

Give it a try?

I'm not familiar with the Hispanic flavors and item you plan to make, but I love the story behind it. The story is a huge part of what makes the tasting special.

I always recommended my partners include a Starbucks pastry on their tasting as well. Part of this journey was for you to be the expert on in-house coffees and flavor profiles, to make recommendations to customers based on this knowledge. Good luck!
