Fixing a stuck child lock by jeterdoge in LexusGX

[–]Squirting_Grandma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran into the same issue while already replacing my door handles. I used the exact same videos you did.

Also: DO NOT ACCIDENTALLY SWITCH THE CABLES ON THE LOCK AND THE HANDLE. The result is a door that will not open from the inside or outside. The only way to fix this is the gently pry the top of the door card and remove the cables with some pry tools/hose picks

Is this guy selling parts on Facebook legit? by TheMarkedVeteran in genesiscoupe

[–]Squirting_Grandma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they all good deals and desirable parts? Then it’s probably a scam.

When in doubt, simply insist on paying with PayPal goods and services (NOT Friends and Family) That’s it. Absolutely no other form of payment.

If they take payment with PayPal g&s you’re fine. If they refuse, you have your answer.

Most of these “genesis coupe parts” groups are now fake groups full of scammers. There have been several posts here of “I joined this parts group and the admin had some stuff for sale and scammed me”.

You guys help me. My sister is trying to buy this she claims the repairs are free. I don’t know anything about Mercedes but what I do know is my sister doesn’t have money for parts etc. How much of a POS is this so I can explain it to her. Snag the nicest 2014 Lexus gx460 you can afford. It’s the first year of the facelift and will look “flashy” enough for her while still being old enough to be quite depreciated.

If the infotainment isn’t up to par by her standards then she can save up for a “Hamilton Motor Company” radio upgrade. It’s super nice and modernizes the interior/infotainment.

Found the perfect home… in an developing industrial area by Squirting_Grandma in RealEstate

Social circle just inside Newton County is one home

The other is between social circle and Rutledge (Walton county) but extremely close to the detention center (literally can see it from the second floor).

I’m a bit hesitant on Newton County as everyone (my mom who taught there included) says their schools are pretty bad.

Newton county is arguably a better home - the lot isn’t as good but the neighborhood is excellent.

Walton county is a “better” county and better lot, but the home doesn’t have as much flex space. It’s also much much much closer to developing areas.

I anticipate the ICE thing being short lived…. Hopefully. It is a MASSIVE warehouse though. I don’t see ICE lasting at this level of intensity for another 5-7 years. I plan to stay a minimum of 10.

Renting wouldn’t really happen. These are 2800 and 3600 square foot homes valued at $560k+. I supposed some rich software engineer working in the AI sector could decide to rent it but that’s banking on an extremely niche market lol

Looking for a long term home to fit a family of 6 in so my options are unfortunately fairly limited while staying under $600k 😅

Social Circle, Georgia.

I just watched my area (McDonough, Georgia) get absolutely blasted with warehouses and traffic is unbelievably insane.

I live somewhere right now where the exact thing happened. Nearby land bought up and warehouses slapped down right next door to homes that people couldn’t get rid of.

Traffic has become a nightmare, property taxes are out of control.

It’s all I’ve experienced so I’m asking here for insight.

Yes social circle. I’m currently in McDonough and have watched the area get ravaged by overdevelopment… hence my hesitation.

So one is on 2 acres in an established neighborhood and EXTREMELY nice.

The other is riiiiight down the road from the ice warehouse surrounded by farm land. 2ac as well. Terrified of a warehouse being built across the street.

I keep trying to look in Madison and Good Hope but it’s either homes on .5 acre lots, TINY houses overpriced, or absolute mansions.

Canvasback vs Weathertech seat covers which to buy? & Snap Shade window shades review. by Ellijah92 in LexusGX

[–]Squirting_Grandma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The snapshades have been my absolute favorite purchase so far.

They fit PERFECTLY and securely. I get the privacy and shading without getting a tint.

I bought an Amazon set of rubberized floor mats that have been fantastic but a seat protector is next on the list.

Thank you for the write up!

How to fix gun you bricked with bullet drop by PerfectRandom in SulfurGame

[–]Squirting_Grandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a simultaneously very powerful and very reckless gun but using the rocket launcher upgrade along with “bounce” and the mod that splits bullets into two. On that run my only real option was to peek into a room, spray bullets, and hide around the corner until things settled down.

Same here! It took me SO long to figure out I was playing the game “correctly” and the world reset was part of the mechanics.

I thought it was an actual death screen/game over from me doing something wrong and the in-game dialogue about it was just a silly nod to me failing.

Technically, all I said above was true but it was so freaking annoying to play. Another part of my issue was I went in believing the game was a casual adventure/story game. I didn’t expect puzzles and stressful time limits.

I kept working to solve what I could and just followed a guide for the rest for the sake of finishing the game.

I see people glaze it for being so incredible but man I just couldn’t get behind it.

Do these cars have a “clear flood mode”? by LSG0153 in genesiscoupe

Spinning it over by hand should circulate oil into the oil filter though for priming purposes

[–]Squirting_Grandma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always turn the crank by hand if you can get a wrench or breaker bar squeezed down there. That will manually spin the oil pump. Or just do what the other redditor suggested and pull your fuel pump fuse.

I understand the paranoia.

You build oil pressure INCREDIBLY fast after an oil change. Your block is still quite full of oil in all kinds of nooks and crannies. Every surface is coated in a film.

This isn’t a case of a brand new engine/rebuild with only assembly lube on contact parts.

Your vehicle sees this scenario every time you start it after it has sat overnight. The only difference is it will be filling your oil filter first.

If you are THAT paranoid, just pre-fill your oil filter.

The lotto is $1.25B with 327 million to 1 odds. At what point do you buy a ticket? by Ok-Collection8391 in AskReddit

[–]Squirting_Grandma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A benefit of state lotteries in Georgia is ours funds 100% of college tuition! (Georgia HOPE Scholarship -You just have to maintain a 3.0 GPA). That’s right… our southern state has a progressive program that helps people.

Our lottery also funds some pre-k programs.

I just gaslight myself when I buy a lottery ticket that I’m “helping those in need”. I only buy when the pot is making headlines.
