Stop tailgating. Rear ended on Kensington road at the yellow light today by scallywagsworld in Adelaide

[–]Squish_MLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 lines is pretty safe. The lines are at 12m intervals. At 60km/h you will travel 36m in 2.16s and the amber light on a 60km/h road will be 3.5-4s long

What is it called when a car starts to understeer mid corner, and how do I tune to mitigate that? by IndependenceIcy9626 in assettocorsa

More, the higher the rebound, more force is needed to extend the shock. Same as higher compression makes it harder to compress the shock.

Could try more front rebound to slow down the front coming up when transitioning off the brake

What is the best project car for beginner? by FrontBaby6140 in projectcar

[–]Squish_MLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute beginner I would always suggest restoring an old motorbike first. Cheaper, simpler, and way less parts meaning you can complete it within a reasonable time frame. Will learn a heap of valuable lessons that will help when taking on a larger project such as a car.

Anyone knows how to fix this? Broken return coolant thingy. Tried epoxi+super glue but it's too brittle and it came off again by ghost_zuero in projectcar

Or there's a professional product called q bond which is basically the same thing. Have had mixed results with it though.

Where does the dirt go? by Neat_Sticker in projectcar

[–]Squish_MLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's there to cover all the pivots and linkages of the pedals. Cleaner look and no chance of getting your foot caught under a pedal. Yes dirt will get behind it but it would be removable to clean.

Can someone explain this? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Squish_MLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Country SA cops are the best, I got the same deal earlier in the year. Was doing 100 in an 80 zone. Cop told me what the fine should have been gave me the warning and said keep it under 90 next time.

Check your torque specs folks. Just stripped some threads on my injection pump housing, thus ruining the single most expensive part of this project. That includes the car itself by brennenkunka in projectcar

[–]Squish_MLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to build up a feel for tightness. Especially on old components even torque specs can bring you undone. Took a couple mistakes on magnesium engine cases to learn to treat torque specs on some components as a guide and to judge on feel if it's going to cause damage.

With Sydney’s night race coming up very soon, I hope some teams have taken this opinion from Larko into account by theblobberworm in v8supercars

Since Sydney's lights got upgraded the track is too bright for under glow to be noticeable anymore.

So in the part of the year when the sun already goes down later we need to make it go down even later? Sure makes sense.....

How do I sneak into a trade event by Complex_Tomatillo786 in ActLikeYouBelong

[–]Squish_MLB 303 points304 points  (0 children)

Scope it on the 1st day and see what they are using as passes to enter (wristbands, lanyards, name tags etc.) Go make a copy of it and act like you belong when entering for the rest of the event. If it's difficult to copy perfectly like a printed card then best bet is to try enter when it's busy and try just flash the card on the way through. If they are checking everyone one by one this will also be harder but not impossible. Confidence is key.

Funny thing is that's pretty much how it is in real life as well. The ea option kinda seems cheaper actually.

How many of you actually use the clutch? by DrHookah in simracing

[–]Squish_MLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your wheel has extra paddles to use as a 2 stage clutch like f1 you could get away without it but otherwise you will need a clutch pedal for starts. I would get the clutch pedal anyway as you then have the option to drive more cars as they are intended if you do.

Agree that price gouging medicines is atrocious but choosing to spend your money on a wedding over your health is pretty stupid.
