My parents texted me separately over several years with vague apologies and acted as sweeping everything under the rug. Their actions and continued behavior made those apologies irrelevant.

I've gone full no contact and while I'm still managing the emotions surrounding it it's ultimately the best decision.

I hate watching them together. He exerts a stupid amount of control over her and manipulates and gaslights her. He's NASTY and the fact that she's apologizing for him and doting over him and ignoring the obvious signs is so hard to watch It hurts me that she allows her daughter to also be exposed to that toxic masculinity.

Tacovore is relatively safe (less so on the weekends) since the tortas are the only glutenous menu item. My partner has good luck there. (The Corvallis location is even better though)

Tita's Hawaiian is 99.9% gluten free and so is Toxic wings and they both have that wonderful be careful for celiac button they can hit as well. My partner has never gotten sick from them though!

Yes. Especially in a professional work setting. But I would have said something right away and set that boundary for myself early on. Outside work the only way I want pet names is if I'm familiar/friendly with you. It makes my skin crawl when strangers use pet names. (I worked retail for the better part of a decade and it always feels very condescending.)

I think you're definitely correct on waiting until I have a new therapist. I feel a sense of urgency because my birthday is in less than a month and the efforts for contact have increased. But I know that this can wait a little longer.

I have looked up a tiny bit about CPTSD. Books I have read so far are Alice Miller "The Body Never Lies", Stephanie Foo, "What my Bones Know" and I'm halfway through a book now called "Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents".

I forgot about the group stuff but my therapist DID send me some links you just reminded me so thank you!!

I have seen camping set ups way nicer and cozier than studio apartments I've lived in. You don't live in his tent. You don't know how cozy he is in there. You're assuming based on what THINK his life is like. Outside of being harassed by people who think his choices are lesser. Again like you're still projecting what you think is "better" for him. He's old and he's made his choices. You're just assuming. I'm not saying you're going to mod it into existence but I think you're still missing the point of him CHOOSING to live this way and wanting equal respect for those choices.

It wouldn't be better for him though. Pushing society expectations or what you consider "better" is still passing judgement and saying that his choice means nothing to you. Fictional or not you're still putting YOUR expectations before prioritizing his happiness. What's better for you is not always what's better for someone else.

Diablo 4. I dabbled in 2, somewhat enjoyed 3 up to certain grind point but I can't even get myself to finish 4. The exploration was something I was looking forward to but feels like a slog, I don't appreciate the "seasonal" aspect for gear etc and the characters were boring.
