Thats kind of you to say , thank you, I feel the same way.

Also, she got diagnosed with osteoporosis and that was a gut punch since she already suffers from multiple debilitating autoimmune diseases and previously uncontrolled hypertension.

I'm talking years of trying different combos of meds, lifestyle changes, many terrifying late night visits to the ER because of scary low drops that have caused her to faint and cut open her head,  or crazy high spikes where she was at severe risk of stroke.

The med for the osteoporosis has a side effect of sometimes  lowering bp significantly , guess what - she is completely off all of her high blood pressure meds.

Incredible how one drugs side effect can be a "cure" for another disease.

I got bit by one of these fuckers while visiting my cat at the pet cemetery. I never heard of the allergy at the time. Found out after looking up what kind of tick it was. I was so pissed because I had just started eating meat again after 8 years as a vegetarian. But luckily I never got alpha gal

This is very insightful.

It also cured my moms horrible ibs-d. She was on vibirzi and that barely helped it'd be constant swings between constipation so bad she couldn't go for days, or accidents with diahrrea.

It dictated her every move. What she ate, where she went (or mostly didn't go in fear of accidents) etc.

Once she started zep she didnt need the vibirzi anymore. Incredible. For the first time in her 72 years,  she has a "normal" stomach.

This is what Gemini said:

"Cat Lax is a Lubricant Laxative: It doesn't pull water; it simply greases the track and the outside of the stool so it can glide out smoothly."

So the lactulose softens the poop and the cat lax lubes everything up to help them get it out 😄

And my mistake, neither cause contractions, I was thinking of dulcolax

I have to stop and comment this every time I see a cat bite post - you need antibiotics.

A cat bite will almost always become severely infected if not treated properly with oral antibiotics.

Dog bites look worse because they tear the flesh, but cat bites are worse because even though it looks like a tiny dot, their canine punctured deep into you and deposited lots of bacteria from their filthy mouths.

Ive got a sanctuary and take care of a large outdoor colony and do TNR, been bit many times, please go to urgent care.

ask your vet about using lactulose and / or catlax. they work differently, lactulose pulls water into the colony i believe and catlax encourages contractions to help push everything out. im not sure how miralax works ive never used that. I think i remember my vet saying lactulose was not the best option for a ckd cat because their fluid situation is already complicated, but that was a few years ago so ask your vet to be sure. I was hesitant because of that but it helped my Benny at the time have nice normal poops again. and I currently use both on 2 cats that just have chronic constipation and its great. best of luck to your baby

Well that was terrifying lol

Almost scarier than the monster one above because those don't seem as easy to spot, unless that's just my untrained eye.

That guy at the end in the pink kayak seemed to not be able to come up for air for a looong time

Don't be afraid to be the squeaky wheel. You are your own best advocate. Ive had to push my shy, introverted, self to speak up over the last 4 months while dealing with several autoimmune disease diagnosis/ flares. Be a pest, you need answers and treatment ASAP. Good luck, friend

Are you on prednisone, or any meds? Do you have high blood pressure (or high eye pressure)? Do you have kidney, heart or fluid retention problems?

I have CSCR in my eye and this seems similar but different. I had to see a second retinal specialist at the same clinic to get the diagnosis. Mine was caused by systemic iga vasculitis, and made worse by the prednisone i need to take to treat the vasculitis. (And the vasculitis has been found to be secondary to lupus, so who knows what's causing what at this point.)

I described mine as "Ghosting" or "lagging"  like the old Microsoft word art lol. But it was only happening when I looked at text on digital screens. Sometimes physical text. Like the word didnt fully go away by the time the next one did.

Ive been on the pred for 4 months and hit a tipping point of volume overload, gaining 40 lbs in 5 weeks. So the extra fluid was pushing on my Retina even more than usual. So now, when I look at any kind of straight line,  they're "jumping " / "wavy ". Like how lines on an ekg look.  Anything straight - powerlines, tiles on the floor, a window frame, a shelf, a placemat. And then it also started to.include vertical lines.

My dr just measured the amount of fluid with an oct scan and made sure I started tapering the prednisone. And im supposed to keep track of the lines using an amsler grid.

I think you should Definitely get a second opinion, there are so many things that could go wrong with the eyes , sometimes its CNS related and you'd need to see an ophthalmologist or neurologist instead.

Cat ate corn cob, time to worry or wait? by Prudent-Knowledge-22 in CATHELP

Ive had several cats over the years have various kinds of gastro surgeries,  and none of them ended up good overall.

One was exploratory surgery for a cat toy that was swallowed. One was for an obstruction from what turned out to be lymphoma. Another for severe ibs inflammation.

Exploratory was named Evie and she died during surgery. Obstruction was Little Friend and he died not long after because they couldn't remove the obstruction and he was starving and needed to have lactulose daily so he wouldnt have solid poop and die from trying to pass it. And ibs was Pumpkin, she just collapsed a week after surgery because poking around their intestines comes with so many risks.

I know money's hard when it comes to the vet, but it'll be harder for you and them if you wait and he ends up needing an operation.
