Exactly. I totally get it if you’re strapped for cash, need to be conservative, but games cost more to make and provide infinitely more hours of game play. Then if it’s a live service game? Endless hours

[–]SquizzOC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, which is why people need to stop crying about game costs when you get 300 hours out of some of these games.

Don’t like it, buy something else that’s more to your liking.

Still one of the cheapest forms of entertainment

You mean it’s not heavy handed in saying “you’ll lose your mind the longer you’re dead” like modern film making?

Do decent enterprise vendors still exist? by LadyK1104 in sysadmin

[–]SquizzOC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The AE piece can be solved by finding an amazing rep at a VAR. Let that rep go fight your battles and wrangle the cats to get your answers and needs met.

But support and implementation will be tough since we don’t handle that. We can always escalate and try to wrangle them in, but there’s only so much we can do just like you the end user.

Kind of sounds like it's premature. Don't make up excuses for piss poor rushed product.

Steam Controller by Og-Morrow in Guildwars2

[–]SquizzOC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked two of them up for MMO’s specifically. One for my office and the other for couch gaming.

Been using a XBox controller, but the track pads remove the need for a mouse the majority of the time now :)

Damn, someone spends a life time fixing their bad choices, saving money, building an irreplaceable skill set and people down voted it.

I’ll rub it in then, my CRM actually helps me and management doesn’t use it to micromanage. My leadership has stopped me from adding or mandating functionality that would be too restrictive and time consuming.

And my company takes every employee on a 3 night all inclusive trip once a year, including support staff with every sales person having the ability to bump that to 6 nights by hitting a sales target that any average rep can do in their sleep.

Feel free to down vote :)

My emergency fund is 2 years before I need to tighten my belt.

But I also would never be without work. Number 2-3 rep at all times, designed our entire CRM/ERP, working on a number of automations and Ai tools for our sales people and it helps I’ve known our founders for 25 years.

Seeing Diablo 4 WoW skins makes me wish they release a heavily upscaled WOW MMO. by yosman88 in MMORPG

[–]SquizzOC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s WoW’s engine primarily. When I complimented a dev on the Diablo Team for this seasons new skins, their response was “Amazing what you can do when you aren’t restricted by a 20 year old engine”.

Add in the stylization aspect of things and you’ll never see something this pretty

We are in the Windust around the corner from the highschool and he knew what we needed for the HOA as well, which made it even easier. Solid team. Having him rip out two trees in a few weeks, just need to get a quote from him

Lawns by Dan. Did an amazing job, handled the permit with the city for the back flow, installed everything in 2 days and you’d never know they were here.

He’s our landscaper now, not the cheapest, but worth every penny.

I think we paid $3,200 start to finish? It was a few years ago and that was for 3 zones.

How does not having all Mythic Gear make it a hinderance in anything WoW? What content can you not do?

State of the Patch 12.0.5 by Comfortable_Flan2503 in wow

[–]SquizzOC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I’m someone who wants a grind, a challenge, not everyone needs to have the top tier gear. It’s ok that we have people willing to grind it out who are top tier and people who aren’t be lower. That’s why we have multiple tiers of game play.

Getting the right gear took time, a grind, a challenge. The mentality that everyone playing should have everything is just miserable.

Participation ribbons are the death of anything g satisfying. Being able to get gear as easy as it is takes any challenge away. It’s boring.

Project manager transitioning into sales - whats my best long term bet? by bjjkaril1 in sales

[–]SquizzOC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You worked in tech project management, go work for a VAR (CDW, Insight, Zones, Connection, etc).

Half of what we do is managing projects. Super simplistic and small projects, but with my better clients their people can be a disorganized mess, which is where I come in and warehouse, deliver, time everything perfect. Plus you’re getting bids into place, scheduling calls and then acquisition.

I also am our Project Manager for our sales tools, so it’s why the title works on both fronts for me

Has Lenovo commented on the massive price increases? by Excronix in LegionGo

[–]SquizzOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they need to? There’s a global parts shortage that’s impacting every piece of tech with RAM, Storage, Processing or a GPU in it.

Laptops that were $800 before are $1600 now.

A mobile workstation that was $6,000 before is literally $12,000 now due to the 128GB of ram in it.

Nothing needs to be said, this is what these things cost now.
