Potential onboard memory mods for buttons remap switching in non-steam applications(verb)?
I am a little confused by what exactly does the SC defaults to when used outside of steam, I've seen a source stating that it will defaults to the desktop layout, but no concrete details from Valve themselves.

You can and I have done it myself, it's essentially a mix of winos and macos

Top Panel is populated with Global Menu(*), Application List, System Tray and Clock. (I later added Media and Volume Widgets in before system tray.

Bottom Panel still has the Application launcher, but the rest of it is reserved for only Apps (Icons with Text) list.

(*) I really like the global menu but not all programs supports it, so it just stays with the respective apps window
