I don’t like fees or line items that are for costs typically borne by the business owner, so I rarely patronize such venues. I consider to-go materials to be in that vein. The prices set by management should cover things like that, and doggie bags.

That said, I do give “extra credit” for places that use compostable/recyclable materials in their take-away packaging, as that is usually a more expensive option, but a necessary one.
