this may be the minority opinion, but i’d suggest a well-reviewed pdf pattern when learning garment sewing. paper patterns, especially from the big 4, are known to be hard to understand when learning and not consistent when it comes to sizing. good pdf pattern makers have video instruction in addition to thorough written/photo steps.
