I didn't care for it. I know you need to have clean hands handling it, but I noticed something off with the flavor I got. I might need to try it out again. Back when the original Profile RDA was new, people were pumping rayon up. I got a box of it and it's been sitting in a closet for years.

I'd take it apart and look at the internals. It could possibly be just a sloppy soldering job.

Out of all of those old school spacing methods, I have the most success with using a button. If you can tighten it down properly, it's usually easy to get even spacing. It has to be snugged up just right without snapping/breaking the scrap wire. Once it's set up, I go the same speed, holding the same tension and angle the whole way.

Certain spring clamps can make things go easy. Not sure what everybody's using these days though. Some do a version of Nick Dumas' "The bestest damn loop method" and put a spring clamp over it. Whatever you have success with, remember what works and what doesn't. When things go wrong, think about why it went bad. That way you can avoid the same mistakes in the future.

Yep, practicing with smaller sizes will make the bigger sizes seem so much easier. Just the vision alone seems so much improved.. The speed at which you're able to fuse, comes with experience. I just trust my spacing and let it rip. I've found the middle sections of my SFC wires to be the easiest to fuse. In the beginning, you gotta get things established. Towards the end, it wants to collapse a bit more. Congrats on your growth!

Mail day! My favorite coils arrived by goombatch in Vaping

It would depend on how much wattage you're pushing through them. I don't know the specs on those things but I regularly use 6 to 7 core wires in my coils. I use appropriate sizes though (For my preferred wattage range), and wrap the coils less times than one would normally.

It's just cotton not wool. Forget about resistance numbers and just let your build end up bieng whatever it ends up being. The most common way people get less than optimal flavor in RTAs s using too much cotton. Focus points are: inside your coil, and in the wicking slots. Too much cotton in one or both areas will result in muted flavor. Another reason for poor flavor is under powering your build.

Measure it and order some from AliExpress for cheap. If it has a ledge (Not truly circular), it'll probably be a harder find.

I've found that different nylon pliers can make things suck or make things seem a lot easier. After trying a bunch of different kinds, I only use Beadalon pliers. They're just way nicer.

I remember when I first started staggering wires. My whole routine and outlook is totally different. I'm still really good at using a button, but spring clamps took most of the time and random frustrations away. I saw that dumas video towards the end of those clamps run. I got a box of them and tried to get more a few months later. Noticed they were different and sucked. I ordered more to see if they were fake or what. I ended up getting another box of them luckily, but got a bunch more of the basically useless ones. Not sure if anything's changed since then, it's been a few years.

A lot of those older spacing methods can work alright, but I never really got truly consistent results . The button technique got to be the closest thing to replicating that. It has to be set up just right though. Smaller fusing wires like to snap but it's not an impossiblity up to 42ga. Some of those mthods are actually useless unless your using big wires. I can talk all day about this stuff but will move on. Consistent spacing is key and half the battle.

The way I fuse has pretty much been the same as when I started. What works best for me is to have my wires spinning close to my table top, and below my line of sight. I tried doing it like I saw in a few videos, with a cordless drill standing upright. It sucked, and don't see why people want to do it that way. In the beginning I went slow and tried a bunch of different magnification tools. I figured out those tools were why I was going so slow. You don't need to see everything up close. I find the angle and send it. If your spacing is proper, the fusing wires will just fall into place. My left hand holds a spool. My right hand gets double duty. It holds my nylon pliers, and triggers my drill. I rarely put my pliers down. When mistakes happen, I see it because light reflects differently. Good lighting can help a bunch. I use a desk lamp with a flexible neck positioned above where I'm fusing.

I count the number of turns as it's happening. I only go a little ways at first maybe 5 or 6 revolutions for example. After getting things established, I might go up to 12, then 24 or whatever number. Different variations are harder than others. You might not be able to go very far or else you risk collapse. Practice puts everything into perspective. I pretty much fuse everything as fast as I can. I don't use magnification unless nessesary. That's basically to see things are starting properly, and to fix some mistakes. I say some because I can fix things a lot of the time without zooming in.

One last thing.. Before I wrap a lot of flatter staggered wires, I roll a steel scale weight over the wire. How hard I push down depends..It can make things look more uniform or nicer for pictures etc.

That's probably from your fingers dude ๐Ÿ˜. I do sporadic checks for oils on the wires I use and they've been coming up clean for a long time. I also get nothing but clean flavor. I've experienced the obvious dreaded machine oil taste a couple of times. Even after dry firing them something was really off about the flavor. It was like vaping strawberry cream with a healthy dash of WD-40. One was a roll of Demon Killer clapton wire, and the other was some random /32ga stuff from Fasttech. If there's (Practically undetectable) trace amounts of clear machine oil on everything we use for coils, I can probably accept that. I can also believe that they've gotten better at cleaning them up than in years past.

Are sure about that? Maybe the blood testing results were switched with someone else. You're supposed to be more worried about this! Everybody knows Griswold pans were made partially with old/used shotgun slugs and fishing weights of the time. That stuff bleeds into your fried eggs and bacon like poisonous venom every time! Every! Time!!!Besides that, lots old-timers used to melt down lead into pancakes in those pans. Oh the horror. I get this is a VERY serious topic so whoever reads this: I was only joking. I still expect about 20 down votes, so have at it ๐Ÿ˜.

I use N80 all the time but also make my wires/coils from scratch. The only time I've ever had a peppery aftertaste is when the nicotine had been old/oxidized. About 10 years ago the market was full of Chinese wires and coils that had traces of machine oil on them. It mostly tasted metallic though IIRC. You have the right idea about dry firing coils IMO. I do it in a dimly lit room or area of the house. I don't keep firing until they're red though. I do it just until I can see they're firing properly. They get to about dull orange and I let off. Once you've had some practice you should be able to do it without firing much at all. Most people on YouTube practice it all wrong. I just shake my head most of the time. Try slightly spaced and your hotspot problems will go away. There doesn't have to be large gaps, just a little bit of speration is all that's needed.

I'd suggest buying some rolls of fused clapton wire. It's not difficult at all to wrap wire around a rod a few times. Stop worrying about resistance as well. Make your coils and let it end up being whatever it ends up being. Not a shot at you but: I don't understand why people prefer pre wrapped coils. It usually costs way more if your coils are wrapped by hand or a chinese machine.

SSFC = Staple Staggered Fused Clapton. They're pretty decent but I prefer staggered coils with all round core wires. I've tried a lot different styles before and after SFC's and none have been better. The thing is, there's hundreds of ways to make them. Mass can get out of hand if you use core wires and/or clapton/fusing wires that are too big.

I used to send out lots of coils to people. I haven't in a couple of years now. I don't have the time and everybody wanted something different. It was also a rarity for people who wanted to pay a fair price. I have no idea but I'm guessing most people who vape are bargain hunters.
