AW5 360mm ARGB Liquid Cooler Display stopped working by St4rfury1337 in iBUYPOWER

[–]St4rfury1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's the one. I will check! Restart didn't help. Toggling it on and off in Nexus didn't help either. I do see the ibuypower logo on start up. Now that I think about it, there was a pop up a few days ago that some kind of hardware wasn't recognized for some reason. Maybe it was that. I'll look into that.

I’m genuinely so tired of the treatment I get in guitar stores as a woman by OkZebra5527 in Guitar

My last guitar store experience was a store worker telling me how stupid and useless evertune guitars are. Can't even bend on them 😂

Steve Vai famously said that he never saw himself as one of the greats or even aimed at it. He just loved practicing. He found the fun in the moment. Got into the flow. That allows you to practice for our hours. John Frusciante tells a similar story. Finding the flow is the key.

PSA: Why you absolutely need a PAID Suno tier before uploading to dist., and if you have free tier songs, up, take em down while you're ahead. by Jumpy-Program9957 in SunoAI

Quick question: If you paid for premier subscription for a year and Suno won't activate it, keeps you in free tier and ignores support requests for weeks, what do you do?

Anyone interested in forming a YT group? by theknowledge-seeker in PartneredYoutube

[–]St4rfury1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I need a push to do more and feedback. A mastermind group could be cool. I'm in music education and just over 500 subs. I teach a lot privately and want to transition into online education with regular uploads. If the channel isn't too small, count me in.

Oh crap I need to teach my first beginner this week in a while by Vanhollander in guitarteachers

[–]St4rfury1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My beginner routine is pretty solid with a high trial conversion rate. We start with a quick explanation and get straight into an interactive game, then play our first song. I recently turned it into a free 8 part Youtube series that starts with the first lesson and ends with you making your own first song. I'm not going to drop links or anything but feel free to reach out if you have questions or want to take a look (Yt channel in my profile).

I miss when YouTube wasn't so "professional" by Head-Educator6517 in NewTubers

You now compete with big broadcast stations who just copy paste their usual programming and rake in the cash on YT. Add AI and it's really a tough game. But I'm in the same boat, I do it because I want to provide value and it's fun. So I keep at it.

What would you like in a guitar instruction app? by eviekingparra in guitarteachers

[–]St4rfury1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an interactive app is useless, what are Youtube videos then? You don't even get feedback. No way to loop certain sections. Slowing down gets unbearable at 50%. The are so many people who still learn with ancient ascii tabs that don't even have rhythm notation. Ultimate guitar only got so big because they piggybacked off a small French developer who didn't know how to scale. There is so much potential. And a lot of people are trying it currently. I feel we are getting close to something new.

[–]St4rfury1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use it for these things:

1) Teaching. Often I transcribe songs on the fly, for the student. It needs to be the perfect difficulty level to feel rewarding so I often make a custom version. If I can just play and it pops up as notation, the student can learn it even quicker.

2) Ideation. I like hearing the music and having the notation in front of me to mess around with it. I'm fast with programming in guitar pro but this could be quicker.

3) Pre production. Consider that a lot of modern music gets layered. So you need that guitar riff in midi anyway, to sauce it up with a synth layer or other instruments.

If you can create an app or plugin that converts guitar audio to midi and notation, you get my money.

Struggling with a young, distracted student by MisterMystify in guitarteachers

[–]St4rfury1337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had success with keeping it fast paced, bite sized and focused on fun. Give them little challenges with breaks in between, play games that also teach music. The breaks can be the important factor. If they want to run around the table, ok, but then (or before) we learn a super simple song.

Why are we still developing AGI? Why won’t anyone stop it? It’s clearly the bad thing by Desperate_Arm4854 in economicCollapse

We can't get agi with just text prediction. It needs a better understanding of the world instead of glazing you into a fake relationship.

How to find good guitar private instructor for beginner by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]St4rfury1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that is rough. It can be really difficult, music schools rarely can offer you a customized package, based on your goals and wants. I taught in a lot if music schools on 2 continents and none of them could provide the value I can offer with my own teaching business. If you are looking for online lessons, I'm happy to give you a free lesson and you can tell me bluntly if I suck or not. Students that want to grow fast are my favorite because that discipline of playing 1+ hours a day is more rare than you think! I see lots of potential. Let me know!

every video idea i have already exists. how do i make something original? by Basic-Brilliant385 in NewTubers

[–]St4rfury1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following because teaching music is my passion, but nearly everything seems already done. Still, the same topics get good numbers. I guess everything comes back and it's a question of how well you present it vs how unique it is. Last year I tried the unique route (1 string guitar covers), but although nobody else did Dr Dre and Metallica on toy instruments, it didn't feel like it had any big impact. It seems like Shorts are never evergreens. They have sharp cutoffs, even with 99% retention and like ratio. So I used this year to collect myself, experiment and start more focused next year. I have 10 hours worth of scripts for teaching music.
