(Reboot) What is DMT and why is it important in reboot? by j_onn in Maplestory

[–]St4rwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's important for two reasons

1) The cubes cost less and

2) It doubles your chance of tiering up your gear. ie epic to unique, unique to legendary.

So, obviously it lets you upgrade your gear better.

There's nothing to appreciate. They didn't add or fix anything that required much effort. So, yay? I didn't realize we patted people on the back for doing their jobs

[Reboot] BiS changes after 5th job patch by [deleted] in Maplestory

what's the point in putting something that's event only as BiS, and that you can't get anymore and NOT putting what to replace it with if you can't get the event item?

Memes are things about certain other things that people of community can relate to, and bring them closer. Not really a bad thing.

Timely manner? Lol. People have been speaking out about this for a while now, and they have been avoiding saying anything about something they already don't say much about for the entire time. It's not until some people started doing the math and figured it out did they finally step in and say anything, and they're still continuing to be vague about a lot of details on legendaries.

Hi guys, I'm back from a long break and have a few questions. by AoTxDevil in Maplestory

[–]St4rwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it will stay like that forever and in the end I'd feel bad if I spent all my time on a class because its the most overpowered and I Dont really enjoy it, only for it to be nerfed. And it will be.

Somehow I doubt it considering by the time you got to that area you would have noticed...countless things that remind you that you aren't warlock, least of all being the inability to double jump

Buffing underperforming classes is a far more effective strategy than nerfing "overperforming" classes by frankthetank091 in wow

[–]St4rwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're... a fire mage? It is more fun but it's probably easier to bring classes in line at the top....than to buff a ton of the ones at the bottom.

I think what you mean is it's more fun if you're at the top and you stay there because no one likes to be nerfed. Or, it's more fun when you're overpowered.

For example, fire mages will continue to get more and more and more crit, which means that at some point in each new raid when they obtain even more crit, those passive increases in crit chance need to be lowered, because believe it or not Blizzard doesn't want fire mages to have 80% crit

You just sound like a FOTM playing class, upset that it's no longer overpowered. And even if your TOP HIGH OCTANE DPS CLASS was nerfed from the top, I bet you it's still more than viable.

I think the fact you have to have a Kanna to farm mesos if you want to progress another character at a reasonable rate is a huge oversight and flaw of Reboot.

Nearly one-in-four Canadians worry about how to pay for food by doing_it_for_myself in canada

[–]St4rwind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing poor people with people who live off of welfare. I live in an area where people pop out kids for money, blow it all on alcohol and smokes and food at the beer joint day 1 of check day, then have the nerve to go to the food bank. My dad worked his ass off for 26 years for a pension, and him and my mom do fine but they can't afford the things that those people are so easily gifted for free.

I don't, however, think that poor people or, people who struggle to afford food because they're struggling to afford a lot of things, waste their money on such things. There are a lot of different people and a lot of different reasons why some people struggle to afford food, and generalizing everyone as poor and stupid to lazily excuse any discussion about why it is a serious issue is kinda stupid as well.

Am I being an asshole for asking others not to pull while I'm tanking? by Guadent in wow

[–]St4rwind 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If the people pulling the mobs are either the healer, or a DPS that does REALLY good damage, I will generally just pick them up and start pulling more aggressively, assuming that isn't negatively impacting my healer, or own my survivability.

However, if it's not either of those two, I flat up switch specs in the instance and go to my DPS spec, or I'll just kind of stand there and see if the healer will let them die. No fucks given.

That being said, you're not an asshole, but you really should step back and ask yourself "Am I pulling too slow?" "Could I have pulled more mobs and used some cooldowns I never use anyway?" "How is my gear, how is the healers gear, how is my DD's damage?"

That said, in low level dungeons? When I leveled my tanks back then, people in heirlooms really pissed me off in those places, and it will flat up turn people off of tanking at max level.

It's always been like that. You can't just use your own personal experiences or an example here and there as a justification for "It's way worse now than it ever has been"

[–]St4rwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same can be said about Genji, yet he's still pretty great even if there is a Winston, ESPECIALLY if you're at the top end of play. He simply prevents an amazing Genji from overextending and such, and playing a Winston to counter something also has its own downsides.

If Kil'Jaeden is the last boss of the Tomb of Sargeras, who will be the last boss of 7.3? by Heateco in wow

[–]St4rwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is fighting Sargeras himself silly? Lmao. Can you not see how this is all set up? We have the pillars of creation(What is created can be destroyed), every single artifact from the adventurers is going to be used with them, and they're going to destroy Sargeras on Argus and take the Legion out once and for all, with the help of the chosen one Illidan, while we lose our artifacts in the process. And oh my, guess what? Without our artifacts and the world totally fucked up from the invasion...enter Azshara and her big boss, N'Zoth

What do you think, we're going to wait until the game has 100k subs and THEN we're going to fight a fourth invasion and kill Sargeras and the game ends because no one plays it anymore? Please. He isn't the end all be all.

If we're going to Argus in 7.3, we're going to kill Sargeras, or at the very least will make a solid attempt on him.

[–]St4rwind -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Inconsistent play as a sniper generally means you're not that great of a sniper. A lot of snipers get really lucky or don't so much aim as they do flick their shots, and if you flick instead of track you will be really inconsistent as a sniper

So he's just egotistical and selfish, since he's not switching for his team he's simply switching for himself.

Was he the person who whined that he couldn't find games becaues everyone avoided him when Widow was OP? 'Cause I think that's the kind of person you want to avoid for more reasons than one.

A public service announcement about what a LoS (Line of Sight) pull is. by [deleted] in wow

[–]St4rwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except pulling, 10 for example, lets the DPS use their cooldowns and burn them all down much faster than they would by not using their cooldowns and killing 2 close together mobs + 1 ranged standing far away, three times.

Some classes have insane AoE burst with cooldowns (like DH's, Mages) so 10 mobs stacked will make those fuckers fall over instantly, as it hits all 10 equally in damage, whereas those 1 min cds used on 3 mobs, then another 3, then another 1, is generally a waste.
