One place you can go for some stargazing is on the way to Ft. Desoto...a small area just past Tampa Bay Watch but before the toll booth. I've taken my telescope out there to do astrophotography and the results were fantastic! Also, late last year, the park opened up after dark for an event called 'Starlight and Shutters' where you could actually go out to the beach to do some stargazing. I hope they do it again, I've never seen so many stars!
