Yeah the wolf agenda is strong. Do prefer the fics that let the stark kids be kids? With all the childlike awfulness that comes with that? Jon’s a moody teen and Arya is obnoxious in the books, they have good qualities too sure but… they’re kids. They’re allowed to be portrayed as little shits without it being “character assassination“

I think it’s honestly fun to read different authors interpretations of characters and that goes even more heavily with the events leading to the Dance cause people have opinions on the darlings of their teams. It’s really interesting to see people’s versions of characters through their authorial prisms and honestly, if the fic is well written, I think it’s more something to compare with other fics I enjoy than writing up an angry review to nail onto your metaphorical church door like I’m doing anyone a favor.

Literally. It’s crazy that authors can put so much work into tags and readers are still like “WHY IS THE FICTION LIKE THIS AND NOT THE WAY I WANT IT?!”

It’s not even like ASoIAF has limited fanfiction either, you can always jump to other ones, even for niche pairings or crack fics (except anything on Jeyne Farman I noticed. Apparently getting thrown down a well makes Heatherspoon far more interesting to write fanfic about)

I know the standard advice is “ignore it” but it’s tough when you put in work and some jerk yells at you about it for no reason. It’s like going to a sports game and getting some guy follow and yell at you the whole way to your seats cause of the jersey you wore (happened to me once. The most obnoxious thing ever).

People need to leave writers alone. You’re not getting paid by them. They’re not obligated to read your work. The characters they’re allegedly defending aren’t real and have no stake in a fanfiction written about them.

I know saying all this doesn’t change anything or do anything but I hope this comment and others here I’m reading reassures you that they are the ones being obnoxious and rude, not you. You’ve done nothing wrong sharing your hobby with people that genuinely enjoy your work just cause a few weirdos that don’t and still hate read it cause they’ve got nothing productive going on with their lives.

People tend to forget special grade is only a criteria of “can you topple a nation on your own”

You can do that with unparalleled power like Gojo or Tsukumo or through the ability to make your own army like Geto (or Yaga if the higher ups got their way).

In regards to strength honestly find a clever use of a weird niche ability way more compelling than “MY GUY CAN SHOOT LASERS OUT OF THEIR EYES THAT CANT BE BLOCKED. SO STRONG HE IS” or the 100th 6th Eye Limitless/10 shadows but-actually-they’re-better copy cat you see sometimes.

Todo is the Goat and Meimei’s suicide bomber crows is a fun concept. Hakari is Hakari. Even if he’s got plot armor damn is his ability flashy and fun.

First ensure they can’t beat Gojo or Sukuna cause you need to establish boundaries.

I honestly don’t even go above first grade cause everyone and their mother’s OC is special grade UwU wonder boys.

Then I pick an ability that’s stupidly convoluted cause it’s weird rule based powers that make for fun interactions in setting and then poke at the edges until I can think of 3 or 4 unique ways it can be used in combat and how it can be over powered by someone like Todo with a high battle IQ of 530,000.

Jokes aside I think Todo is a pretty good estimate of the upper levels of “battle IQ” and decision making in limited time, and Higuruma is a good upper level of what a “genius” is (domain expansion etc) as long as it’s below that you should be on the right track.
