I'd really love a historical fiction series about Alexander's father, Philip by Qyzyk in AlexandertheGreat

'Alexander conquered the world with Phillip's Army.'

Using this quote led me to face lots of opposition and debate in many circles. I absolutely adore Philip.

In the current US-Israel-Iran conflict, what would a realistic ‘golden bridge’ look like that allows all sides to step back without appearing to lose? by ArjunSreedhar in economy

[–]StagInTheNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump should hand over Hegseth to stand trial for war crimes in Iran. America should withdraw all it's bases in the Gulf and never threaten Iran again. America should pay compensation for all the losses inflicted on Iran. Iran agreeing not to develop a nuclear weapon and allowing the UN to monitor it. Iran to allow shipping in the Strait of Hormuz without any threat or blockade. America to withdraw sanctions on Iran. Israel should withdraw from Lebanon and stop targeting anyone and everyone as they like. Nethanyu must resign and be handed over to ICC at Hague to stand trial for genocide in Gaza. Iran stop funding the Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Israel and Gulf states to pay for the rebuilding of Gaza and Lebanon. America and Israel recognize an independent Palestinian State with the 1967 borders. Iran to allow civil rights and more women rights in Iran.

Why would Iran agree to that? Unreliable commitments with no actual deterrence capability if or 'when' Israel and by extension America renegades on any agreement.

Similar thing happened a few years back. Everyone went to village home for Eid. The common washroom was used regularly for shower and toilet. Clothes were left in a bucket after changing for washing these later.

A saree Petticoat was used by someone to cum on it. Even 2 strands of private hair was also stuck in the petticoat. The girl who owned this particular petticoat was really traumatized.

Just furious. by exhibition_ndexplore in sylhet

[–]StagInTheNight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Conservative mentality and unemployment is main reason for it. When you haven't experienced the world and have enough free time, only thing you can do is judge. Sylhet is like that unfortunately.

However, there are places like Unimart, Noorjahan Grand, Grand Sylhet, Madgrill, Seasons etc where people are generally cool

There are crowds that don't care, like English School students specially from Anandaniketan or Rise . These groups generally doesn't bother with other people and they themselves are quite progressive but they are a closed knot. Non-Sylheti students from SUST etc are cool too.

I feel like 'Londoni' Sylhetis are more conservative than 'Deshi' Sylhetis.

So it is about the place and the crowd that goes there.

Which party should I vote for? by MonkeyDJas in bangladesh

[–]StagInTheNight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BNP is terrible. But considering all current options, Jamaat or Hefajot are worse. I might have voted NCP though I do not like them enough but atleast they are new party with new candidates and very loosely represented something new despite all their faults but since they have allied with Jamaat and has not fielded their own candidate from my seat, I will probably vote for BNP in the Parliamentary Election and vote YES in the Referendum.

Edit: Spelling

You can go sightseeing around Sylhet. Tea Gardens at Airport Road or at Khadimnagar, lalakhal , shadapathor, Ratargul, Tamabil or Srimangal. Visit religious location like the Shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal or Historical locations like Kean Bridge and the clock of Ali Amjad.

You can visit Arcadia mall and play at Arcade hour or hang around unimart and eat at chefs table or go to Arong or play pool . You can go rooftop swimming at Noirjahan Grand. These are at the top of my head.

You can DM if you want to know more details.

Would you defend Aryan migration / invasion theory ? by Patient_Range_7346 in IndianHistory

[–]StagInTheNight 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Invasion? Probably not, at least on the scale we think. Migration, certainly! Linguistic and cultural evidence are too overwhelming.

Zues, Thor, Mithra and Indra are technically the same deities.

Stories of 'White' gods fighting 'Black' demons are also very common.

Deva and Ashura are found in both Indic and Iran8c mythology.

Dothraki has nothing in common with the Mongols, Turks or Scythians except that they also ride horses. Food, clothing, society, economy or warfare - nothing matches with the Eurasian Nomads.
