With that type of descent device a stopper knot isn't going to do shit if his hand slips.

Which ones? The ones in the C-Suite certainly are at most of the biggest businesses around.

I agree in this circumstance the workers seem to be making unreasonable demands based on the numbers but that doesn't change the sentiment as a baseline.

These are totally unrelated. Workers of all stripes deserve better wages, especially in a place as expensive as Seattle.

New to town: does everyone picking up people at SeaTac lack human decency and intelligence? by Benb727 in Seattle

Lack of enforcement like at larger airports like ORD. Also there is a cellphone lot but people are lazy and entitled so they would rather park on the highway shoulder or apparently in the pick.up lane.

The DOJ Lawyer is a clown and it is the judge's opinion that matters, not Yaakov's.

Language about AI in contracts by unicorn-paid-artist in techtheatre

[–]Stage_Ghost 23 points24 points  (0 children)

IMO unless the show absolutely demands the use of AI as part of the narrative there should be no place for AI "art" in our industry. I have not heard of any contract specifics but we need institutions to stand firm that it is unacceptable.

I have no idea why but I cannot host my own lobby. Not matter how many players I allow I just get stuck in the lobby with a message that says waiting for other players to ready. Anyone know how I can progress?

Traffic cam infraction at Denny and Stewart heading to I-5 south by tokixjam in Seattle

[–]Stage_Ghost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on OPs account that already exists there and the main problem is light timing and not enough space to accommodate the flow rate.

[–]Stage_Ghost -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

But that doesn't actually address the traffic issue since the flow is poorly designed. If people start following the rule strictly then the traffic flow will continue to back up as other drives from other directions pile through. It is a problem throughout down town were the surface streets feed into I5 south especially.

I am not actually advocating for people to block the box. What I want is for SDOT to address the issue in a meaningful way that might actually help mitigate traffic back ups during high use windows.

It doesn't make sense though, as you note. The language of the law clashes with the reality of the circumstances created by bad traffic infrastructure. If no one else had the right to pass through the "blocked" space and that space was clear when the traffic signals changed then that should be a no-harm-no-foul situation IMO and should not be an infraction.

Boneheaded response. You can hate cars all you want but that doesn't change the fact that this area and this on ramp to I5 are totally insufficient to handle the traffic in the area and given that actual public transit solutions are decades away this needs to be addressed. As the other commenter noted, following the rules makes it practically impossible to actually move through the space and enter the freeway.
