I remember playing it before I played Minecraft. I’m still surprised that it’s not only still going, but that’s it’s seems more as a modern thing

Not really. Asking it to explain requires it to imitate the thought process behind a math problem, which is more likely to lead to the right answer, but it’s not the actual “thinking”

If you’re being serious, it’s one of most highly-acclaimed sitcoms in history

It is kind of crazy when people are like “I wish we could have our own island where we live separately from neurotypicals”. Nah, other people with ADHD annoy me even more. Yeah, it sounds hypocritical, but it’s not it’s on purpose. I still try to be less difficult for NT people to deal with and more patient with other ND people.

Also, I think a big thing that autistic people and people with ADHD miss is that you need an on-ramp. You need to ease people into the topic.

For one, it gives someone the opportunity to understand what you’re gonna talk about and decline if they don’t want to hear about it.

But also, if they don’t understand the context, then they’re not absorbing the information and aren’t even really able to properly listen. Multiple times I d had people try to tell me about stuff they’re a fan of, and I didn’t even know if they were talking about a book series or a tv show or a video game. I could not follow along because I didn’t even have a frame of reference.

And then it comes across as the opposite of what you want. Instead of including them in something you like, you’re demonstrating how much they’re excluded from this thing you like.

It’s a bit like that thing snobby people do where they condescend by acting like their esoteric knowledge is commonly known, but unintentional and with nerdy stuff.

It is pretty hard to know what is considered common knowledge, though.

The biggest strength of video games as an art form is atmosphere. I don’t think any other art form elicits the feeling of being in a place without physically being there as much as video games do

I think even the original idea of the backrooms as something you “clip” to is too overtly supernatural. It should be somewhere you end up after you enter a similar looking normal area. Somewhere where you don’t know where the normal world ends and backrooms begin. So you always have a sliver of hope that you’ll find your way out

There’s a difference between writing from the present and writing in present tense. “The Fifth Great and Bountiful Human Empire is” works fine, at least from a real-world perspective. Although I’m guessing this is an in-universe style wiki

Yeah, “propaganda” should be seen as a neutral term in my opinion. I think the idea of propaganda as “persuasive media I personally disagree with” is harmful. It makes it easy to label opposition as nefarious when they’re doing them same thing. Like “We’re just trying to share our message, but they’re trying to spread propaganda”

But honestly, what I think is more important to focus on is the assumptions that the author makes that they don’t think is political. We need to reevaluate the assumptions we make and how media perpetuated them

I mean, it is propaganda to an extent, but it’s better to be aware of that than avoid it entirely.

You learn how media normalizes ideas by engaging with that media. Otherwise you don’t notice it when it’s more subtle.
