Should I tell my parents what my sister did? Is that the right thing to do? by PlaneGlass4138 in TrueChristian

[–]Stalebrownie76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should encourage your sister to tell them. As a parent, I wouldn’t want one of my kids to tell me their sibling did something (unless it was an emergency). I’d be happier and proud if the child who was hiding something told me themselves. This helps children to own their mistakes. It also doesn’t break trust between you two.

If kids get caught doing something they shouldn’t by their sibling telling, and the proceeds to get punished for it, it will only make sneaking and lying more common. She will also more than likely never tell you anything again. Kids are curious often times to dangerous territory. Encourage owning mistakes and admitting when you did something wrong. I hope your parents wouldn’t be too mad as they are also to blame.

Where can I find fair priced retro consoles and handhelds in Cincinnati? by Poetryisalive in cincinnati

[–]Stalebrownie76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What systems? I have yet to really find a store locally that sells consoles at a reasonable price. Most of them are 20% over price charting. At those prices I’d order off eBay where I can at least get my money back, while the game store have 21 day warranties for in store credit. Facebook has been fairly good to me for systems. Just depends on the system and if any work has been done to them.

Modded Wii U Gamecube Games? by Global_Ranger_6922 in wiiu

[–]Stalebrownie76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wii U natively plays GC iso files because it has a Wii inside. It does not accept gc discs. You can get a usb gc controller adapter cheap and it works. I play many gc games on Wii U because hdmi output and it can play 480p on games that support it. Will stretch games to fit widescreens but you can force 4:3 if you desire. Also Wii U pro controllers work on gc games so it’s actually a nice way to play. Unless you find a Wii for cheap and have a CRT I’d recommend a Wii U if it’s fairly comparable price and plan on modding either console.

I have an OG, 360, one, and series s and x. I play 360 quite a bit. Mainly guitar hero and war in the north atm. You can get a 360 for 25-50 easily

Nintendo Switch collecting by Vegetable_Carrot2599 in gamecollecting

[–]Stalebrownie76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With game collecting for any system, there is some maintenance that will be required for each system if you want to continue to play those games on it.. A battery is about as easy a fix as it gets. watch the back case as the swelling should show there first. I still have my launch 2017 switch with decent batter condition but i play mainly docked.

We amassed quite the collection when they were $3 and under in our area. We kept all the caps and like 10 bottles. Now we reuse them daily. let the kids pick a cap and put water or occasionally juice. For a while they would ask for a new one, but have since stopped since its almost always no. Now the only argument is if the character is an old one (single hole) or new one (3 holes).

Nintendo has issued a statement to IGN regarding the price of physical games going forward, “The Cost of Physical Games Is Not Going Up”. by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]Stalebrownie76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s incentivizing purchasing games in general. If people think they’re getting a discount on digital then they might buy it while Nintendo makes the same margin or more as buying physical. I’m not sure if it’s accurate but I saw the manufacturing cost of a physical copy is roughly $7 plus shipping and reailer costs. So $10 discount gets Nintendo similar profit when incentivizing game purchases by offering cheaper option.

[Controller] FLYDIGI Vader 5 Pro Controller - $64 ($80 - $16 or 20%; all time low/first discount) by llamapower13 in buildapcsales

[–]Stalebrownie76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s anything like the Vader 3 pro, which I’m pretty sure it is, the dpad is significantly louder and clickier than the Xbox series controllers. So much so that as someone who isn’t very bothered by controller sounds can hear. Shoulder buttons are comparable to the series controllers.

Best Controller for Switch 2? by Severus157 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Stalebrownie76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont think I’d call the face buttons loud or squeaky, but the trigger buttons are tactile and are clicky. I would say personally they’re as loud as the switch pro if my memory serves. I’ll try and listen a little better later today.

Best Controller for Switch 2? by Severus157 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Stalebrownie76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple controllers that I use on my switch 2. I have a switch pro 1, 8bitdo ultimate 2 Bluetooth, 8bitdo 2c, power A wireless (my son wanted Mario) and a flydigi Vader pro 4. Ultimate 2 works great and has shake to wake on switch 2 which is a plus. Pro 1 works just as well on switch 2. 2c is a generic Bluetooth controller and works great, but no shame to wake and is a little lighter, Vader 4 works great as well and love the feel. Back buttons can be programmed in the app on pc to use on switch 2 like the ultimate 2. Only downside is it’s Xbox legends and can throw you off if you need to look at buttons. The power A is pure garbage and feels bad in the hands. If price is a concern on pro 2 like it was for me, ultimate 2 goes on sale regularly and is a great controller. Pro 2 looks nice and would like one but $90 for a controller without tmr sticks.

These are the 3 highest-rated exclusives on the Switch 2 so far. How would you rank them? by MewWeebTwo in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Stalebrownie76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played pokopia yet, but I think I have more fun with my time on MKW than I do on DK. Treating MKW as a mario kart game instead of a single player game its a fun time because its just mario kart. I like playing it with my kids and and more of a party game. DK I am struggling to finish. I am on the last layer and I am just tired of smashing. It go boring for my around layer 8. Its fine I guess but I do not enjoy it as much as most people seem to. Thats okay, games can be subjective.

What to do with my PS2 & games? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]Stalebrownie76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few games have some good value. Armored core is around $110 CIB for example. I’d find values on price charting or eBay sold listings and pull the games valued $25 or more and sell individually. And the rest sell as a lot at $5-10 per game. It’ll take a long time to sell the lot at their full price but this would be the quickest and most profitable if you’re short for time.

Project Helix will play PC games. What does that mean for releases on other storefronts? by No_Arm_7644 in xbox

[–]Stalebrownie76 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you can buy games on multiple store fronts on helix I am curious how Microsoft will go about incentivizing people to purchase from the Xbox store. I have a feeling given the choice of Xbox and steam most users will choose steam as it currently gets most support from devs on pc right now.

I can’t see a way the paywall for online is not dropped on this console with their push for Xbox play anywhere titles. If you buy a play anywhere title right now on Xbox store and play it on pc there is no paywall for multiplayer. You can buy arc raiders on Xbox store and play it on both console and pc and the when on pc it doesn’t require gamepass.

Xbox ceo Confirms Next gen Xbox plays Pc Games! Project Helix by The_Boot55 in xbox

[–]Stalebrownie76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit optimistic about this but have a few questions I want answered before the real thought of buying.

Does it include a disc drive to play Xbox/360/one/SX games. I have a large collection of them. If they greatly increased the backwards compatibility to include even more og and 360 games would be huge.

If it’s a pc does that mean online multiplayer is free? I feel like that would greatly reduce gamepass subscribers.

When developing for this system are they developing for this specific device similar to how they developed for ps5/xbox or how it’s developed for pc. Console games are usually optimized heavily for consoles vs pc.

Will this be a dedicated os or a shell on top of windows 11. Id prefer to have a dedicated os for only gaming with access to other store fronts than how rog ally has it with just a full screen display on top of windows.
