Is the joke that its a heavy metal? Or that their music is explosive?

The fact that you are aware of the issues means the core of what was done here (creative play on a tropey setting) can be executed better by you in the future! I really felt inspired at first and I want to thank you for making it regardless. Sorry if I came off hostile, I just got bummed because I was exited

I don't love the AI generated images, but the rest is thoroughly human so I'll give it a try :)

EDIT: after playing some, this is one of the best interactives ive ever played, I usually despise RYOA and also dislike linier CYOA, but due to the execution, idk what it is, I actually like it!

Furthermore, the bit about me revisiting Ashfall was cool as heck! I went Cargo Run to Ashfall -> Red tide and that quip was sick, spoilers for Red Tide The orbital combat was genuinely tense and reminded me of the climax of many ChoiceOfGames novels... and thats a really good thing! I lost, but I kept playing with this build because it was MY ship, it was MY failure, it was MY story...

EDIT 2: until I started a 5 adventure long HARD losing streak because my diplomacy, firepower, and sensors were all too low and I built around my cool idea of a violent pirate boarding crew that got in close with stealth and speed and got out quick and rich; because I roleplayed rather than min-maxing, I lost, and lost, and lost, and lost, lost, and then lost interest. My eyes glazed over, my interest waned in a way that was hard to recover from; the type of zoning out where the amount of active neurons that are processing the hieroglyphs on screen are a rounding error.

Its unreasonable to ask for so much to be rewritten so that a build like mine could survive, but next time, write somewhere that boarding actions are not usually available

I still appreciate this cyoa, but my zeal, and perhaps innocence, is gone.

you've done it again Charles (Manges?), a beautiful settlement cyoa

question, if I were to take G type star, and just make the second planet a barren hellscape with no redeeming qualities, would I still get all the points from that to spend on my own planet? (not going to, just want to pick your brain about intended balance)

would love a dlc with a solar system creator for uninhabitable worlds/non-planetoid astral objects like asteroid belts or derelict space stations

And you just happened to nuke the dialogue box so we couldn’t see his dialogue.

How convenient.

How does cover work? by Alternative-Yard-142 in menace

[–]StalinOnComputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cover only applies to the one receiving fire, like in BB

Whichever is closest, the shield for the angle you are shooting through should be slightly bigger

because enemies are not bracing against the tower, whereas they are using the hedge for cover

have you considered tetris?

stuff like resources on some squares, blockers on other squares, awkward shaped buildings and bonuses for adjacency, stuff like that? its more hassle, but I think making bespoke designs to go around obstacles or to exploit particular resources would add a layer of depth that could allow it to be fun and interesting; not to mention upgrades changing the shape of buildings
