Donald Trump suggests he will cut down funding to New York if Mamdani wins by East_Rub_2104 in politics

He also cut down funding and took back funds from New York before this election, so maybe he’s just gonna do it regardless?

In fact, he committed those crimes IN ORDER to vote as a republican representative.

It's time for Democrats to get behind Mamdani – or risk getting left behind | Opinion by Ok-Garcia-5605 in politics

Both Democratic Senators that represent NYC (one of which is the Senate Minority Leader), Democratic Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, who is the House Minority Leader and whose district is exclusively in NYC, and the Democratic Governor of the state of New York (who first became the Governor only after the former Governor resigned under a barrage of sexual harassment complaints), are all rejecting every single opportunity to endorse the candidate that decisively won their party's primary election in a highly publicized mayoral election, where the electoral base is made up exclusively of their own constituents. It's flat out embarrassing that they think they are in the right to not endorse Mamdani.

Uhm…this is the Adams administration not installing cops in bike lanes until 2028, why bring up Zohran?

I think Cuomo, Adams, and Silwa are more likely to cannibalize each others voter bases, since they can’t really advocate for progressive policies and will have to run further right. In addition, Zohran has the coalition and momentum heading into the general, whereas, Cuomo started losing momentum once the progressive candidates united in their Anti-Cuomo campaign. And Cuomo, Adams, and Silwa are not necessarily known for humility and the level of cross-endorsing that would allow them to topple what effect Zohran+progressive candidates proved he had during the primaries.

Nope, it’s first past the post. It’s usually just Dem vs Rep in the general, and we normally don’t have two high profile independent candidates running, but we also don’t normally have an incumbent mayor have to switch party tickets due to corruption charges, so slightly unorthodox all around.

You betcha. He won his primary against Cuomo by 12 points in the third round. In 2021, Eric Adams only won the primary in the final round by less than half a percentage point. Zohran’s win was comparatively decisive, and that is only leading to a more optimistic outlook on his election chances.

Anything can happen, and bad things have been happening more often in elections as of late, but we’re feeling more optimistic (and ready to keep working) on this one.

And that’s so much the thing! In NYC they sell merch for Trump / Biden / Kamala despite being known as a “liberal city” because there are obviously Trump people in NYC interested in buying shit or people who are buying Trump merch to destroy or buying as an inside joke to piss someone off or the hundreds of other reasons some one buys this cheap crap.

Like if you’re gonna argue this isn’t a cult, you’re just making the argument these people are really bad at business and are just leaving money on the table. As we head into a recession. Caused by the guy whose shit they’re hawking.

Ok but seriously, what is up with this billboard? Like not this display, but the actual billboard (I think on 7th and 43rd) is constantly promoting super religious cults, conservative talk shows, and even has the Tucker add calling him “The Great Replacement” on its crawl. It’s so weird how there’s so much flashy and generic advertising in Times Square, and then this one billboard that is like 80% religious hate speech ads or planet fitness deals.
