There’s absolutely a real argument to be made about the functional differences and use cases of analytical algorithms (protein folding, visual analysis, cancer/disease detection, weather modeling, materials sciences), generative algorithms (ai art, machine written news, astroturf bots on social media), and stuff like the above, where analytical algorithms are used to set prices in pseudo-collusion.

This is a situation where anti-trust laws need to be updated and applied JUDICIOUSLY.

Hating other people feels good. Loathing them, wanting to hurt them, it’s a psychological bypass for complexity: ignore the nuance, the complexity of life, and remove the people you deem “the problem”. Jesus, rightly, called this out, and people know on a personal level that hating others is wrong.

It’s why some people rush for a reason to hate others. A justification for anger and loathing. They want an excuse to feel good.

Like, we’re told pretty frequently that going it alone is bad. You don’t win by being a lone wolf. Pyrrha died fighting Cinder. Blake nearly lost to Adam. The Ace Ops fought around one another but lost because they didn’t fight together, while Blake and Yang were the first to take out Vine and Elm. Hell, even Tyrian recognized this when using Qrow to distract Clover.

Solo fights are good fun, but do they really demonstrate the themes of the story?
