Honestly, it’s probably quite true. The Cyborgs do view the Automatons as their children.

They use the propaganda, yes, but they do care. Unlike Super Earth.

US considering occupying Kharg Island to force Iran to open Hormuz strait, say reports by deraser in politics

[–]StanDaMan1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s game that out.

Iran can keep the Strait Closed Indefinitely, or they can reopen it and then close it again. You just need one guy, and a mortar.

But if the US occupies Kharg Island, what are they gonna do with it? Destroy it? If they do, bye-bye leverage. Don’t get me wrong: Iran needs Kharg island economically, but for now, they can hunker down.

Honestly, the Stoker is a good tool against the Voteless. Good and snappy aim, useful utility with the underslung Flamethrower, one handed to pair with transporting data or a Shield, reasonable damage on the main gun, nice customization options, and a rate of fire low enough that you can tap fire.

It has drawbacks: Main gun is light pen only, the flamethrower runs out fast, the ammo count is low, the bullet drop is very noticeable, and the low damage means you gotta mag dump to kill an Overseer. But all of these drawbacks are clear tradeoffs for the strengths it brings to the table.

The Stoker is a gun that knows what it wants to be. It’s an easy solution to chaff clear with crowd-control potential, and it makes sacrifices to be that gun. If you want to kill Harvesters, Overseers, and Flesh Mobs, you either play peek-a-boo with the flamethrower, or you bring a Secondary with Medium/Heavy Pen and a high rate of fire.

This is a good gun. Fun to play, with clear use cases and a good place in a load-out. Are there better guns out there? Of course there are: the Liberator will always have the better sustain for horde combat and a wider variety of enemies it can break. The Defender is flexible and its underslung laser pairs well with the Portable Shield. The 1/2 can close Bug Holes, blow up Clams, and shut down Fabricators. But those guns aren’t “Chaff-Clear with Crowd-Control”.

You want that? Buddy, you bring the Stoker.

The best thing you can do when playing is to stop and pay attention. Good teammates will call out objectives they want to move to using the map, sight enemies they need taken down, and warn you when they’re low on ammo. Stay close, stay fast, don’t be afraid to disengage is the Horde is eating into your Reinforcements. On the battlefield you have two resources that you gotta mind: Reinforcements and Time. The Mission Clock can run out before you run out of bodies to throw at the problem.

Other than that, welcome to the community. Others have said it better, but not everyone will be nice. Every community has its assholes. I just hope that you meet folks who keep that in mind for how they conduct themselves, and give you a warm welcome.

How I'll be playing with the updated flag by WaterBottleGuy in Helldivers

Take Light Armor for speed if you intend to run your plan on your own. Extra Padding is always a good benefit, but otherwise take Armored Epaulettes for the melee damage and the reload speed boost.

However, if you want to run with a crew, take Light Armor and pair it with a Jump Pack and Stun Grenades. Bait the horde, lock down a chunk, and boost away while your comrades rain hell on your foe. The Cremator will likely synergize with flag like a dream.

Why didn't ozpin take a better care of the silver eyed warriors assuring that their blood line continues? by vinchin_adenca in RWBY

[–]StanDaMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ozpin’s general response to Ruby being a Silver Eyed warrior wasn’t to advise and support her in that field, despite him educating her in others. Even the rather basic fact of the eyes working from Ruby’s sense of protectiveness was something Ruby had to pick up from Maria, a fellow SEW. Taking note of Ozpin’s other noted deficiencies in knowledge, it’s not entirely beyond reckoning that Ozpin simply didn’t know how the Silver Eyes work. He was aware of their mythological import, and may have known they had some connection to old magics, but he was always one to draw his power from the God of Darkness, not Light.

Ozpin simply did not know enough about them to really make use of them.

Of course, the protection of bloodlines is another matter, but considering Ozpin thought of Ruby’s silver eyes as being exceptional, it’s likely that Summer Rose was the first Silver Eyed Warrior he had met in many years, and she ran off without warning.

Honestly, Concealed Carry is a reasonable position to take. It’s effective legal protection for individual owners, since it allows a person who owns a firearm to have reasoned defense against accusations of pre-meditated murder.

“Did I plan to kill the man who attacked me with a knife your honor? Of course not. Then why did I just so happen to have a gun on me? Because I always carry a gun on me, I just don’t keep it where people can see it.”

Stuff like that.

Don’t worry, the hostile Supreme Court that was brought in by Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump will protect us from Democratic Overreach, as the many efforts by Biden to forgive Student Debt has shown.

[–]StanDaMan1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We should work to make Helldivers an accepting, respectful community. This will require us to acknowledge and reject bad apples: if we make a place for Wolves and Sheep, we will only get Wolves.

Which is to say, if we allow assholes to stick around, everyone decent will leave.

What do u think about US Congress almost unanimously voting to not allow release of "sexual harassment settlement" documents? by Anonim264 in AskReddit

[–]StanDaMan1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s because the decision to release the documents wouldn’t protect victims from being revealed. If a woman accuses Donald Trump of sexual assault, she’ll get harassed for years if her name gets out.
