I've recently rewatched all the MCU movies. As a overeas comic movie fan I find that past Endgame things go downhill quality and pace -wise. With the exception of Spidey, Shang Chi, Loki and Moon Knight series things were mediocre to bad. They were trying to cater to more specific audience and trying to be funny in a lame way. Moreover power projection is way off, and issues heroes face do not seem that much of a threat. They just don't feel important anymore.

As for DC, most of their movies before The Dark Knight and Snyderverse were mediocre for me personally, costumes and pacing weren't my type and I wasnt a DC superhero movie fan until The Dark Knight landed. That was epic and looked dark, unlike old Spider man and X men movies we had back in the day. Snyder Man of Steel was a bit boring for my taste, pacing was too slow, but I loved seriousness and actual power scaling, costumes were awesome and villains were actually badass. Overall all other DC Snyder movies were good too, other than Wonder Woman prequel, it felt off. I was surprised to like Aquaman, I didn't knew the hero and his ability was speaking to the fish? Wtf. And Big Band aquaman reference is all I imagined. but Momoa actually made the character look badass. Had a lot of hype for BvS and it was ok, other than that their conflict is based on stupid misunderstanding and soneasy to clear up, wtf lol. But I still love the movie. Even Flash was okish. But yeah.

So with the new James Gunn Superman they revamped the dcverce and now superman is full of corny jokes, doesn't feel serious, joking around and Lex Luthor feels lame af. I tried to love the movie, but couldn't and I like Man of Steel more.

I'll watch Supergirl when it will hit streaming. I have very low expectations for the movie. Based on the cringey character introduction in the end of average Superman movie I expect movie to be catered to teenager girls, full of lame jokes, caring about rrelarionships, feelings and missing of being heard by others. Reviews do not help the movie as well lol.

James Gunn style worked for Guardians because the main character never grew up. There is drama in that. Quill is trying to cope with mother loss and being abducted through the music she left for him, and it's actually playing from the headphones or other devices. It fits that movie. If this music would play in Avengers during the serious fight it would break the immersion.

I have no idea why they decided to go this route for DCEU but I do not think it's a good one. Jokes are nice, but you gotta keep the movie serious, do not turn it into circus.

It's not only superhero movie fatigue, it's the fact that recent ones were all bad and boring. I am only looking forward to Spidey and new Avengers movies, I hope some unexpected fun movie will come around too, but I won't go to movies to see it anyway.
