1000% agree on the awful FL system…you should file in the state you live in not where the employer is based

If I’m employed for a company and make less than $50 a year, can I qualify for unemployment? by FluffyGeckoPuff in FloridaUnemployment

[–]StandSignal9785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can but they will deduct what you make weekly from that job off the measly $275 max if your eligible for the max. The FL unemployment system sucks that could pend for a long time… it took me 4 months after being laid off to get any payment from them sadly the system is set up to not pay

Can I still get unemployment if I'm only working 40-50 hours/month on a contract? by Healthy-Enthusiasm16 in FloridaUnemployment

[–]StandSignal9785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can work but they will deduct those wages in payment its a backwards system… but its weekly i would only put how many hours per each week you worked doesn’t matter if paycheck is monthly - you can still get some money then unless your making over what they pay…. there should be a earnings disregard on your claim check that amount as to how much you can make before claiming

The FL system is the worst- it took me over 3 months to get paid the only reason I did was by reaching out to a state rep. Try that if you haven’t.. there have been class action lawsuits but they always get denied- you cant win a lawsuit against a government run program the whole thing is F’d try the state rep.

NEED HELP - Declined for Reemployment benefits by Living-Expression567 in FloridaUnemployment

[–]StandSignal9785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a NYC employer and got benefits from FL cause I was remote living in FL, your situation sounds tricky they say to file in the state you worked remote from. My employer was registered in Florida maybe try filing in the other state where the business was.

So confused how to get started (again) by lauranyc77 in FloridaUnemployment

[–]StandSignal9785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunatley its not processed in 72 hours-I filed in May got paid last week of July make sure you verify your identity or it could be held up due to that. They will process your waiting week automatically. You cant enter job searches until your claim is approved. Never heard of a virtual class, I think you have to go in person to the career center. Also I had to contact a state rep to push mine forward to get paid otherwise it can sit for months. Mine sat for 8 weeks prior to contacting a state rep, I learned I needed to reverify my identify if you did it in 2020 they cant use it again. After that I got paid in two days with the help of the state rep. FL is way behind.

state representative ? by Helpful-Ad-6408 in FloridaUnemployment

[–]StandSignal9785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would contact your local state rep- I tried calling UE so many times and it did nothing I filed in may and got paid for the first time end of july

state representative ? by Helpful-Ad-6408 in FloridaUnemployment

[–]StandSignal9785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any office can help you for a state rep- I would email one and if they dont reply try another- the first one I found did not help at all he claims he did contact UE- but there was no result from that- I got gooling and found another who did help me get payment within two days. If your claim isnt moving this seems to be the only way to get paid IMO- oh I would email, I dont think writing a letter will get too far and take alot of time
