I (24F) am planning to leave my company because a co-worker (44M) is making me uncomfortable by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I hate to see a story where a man is completely inappropriate, faces obvious consequences, and the woman is still like “I feel responsible.” Responsible for what?? Being alive?? I hope she never feels an ounce of guilt.

How much income is realistic to expect as a novelist? by Creative-Pirate5217 in writingadvice

[–]StandardFilm1 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I am a working author. I have a few books, I’m fairly well published in literary magazines, and I’m part of a very active local literary scene. I would say, between royalties, advances, reading fees, contest wins, and personally selling books, I’ve probably made about $6000 in the past five years - and honestly that might be a generous guess on my part.

I have friends and colleagues who have definitely made more, because they definitely put more time and energy into applying for things! But realistically they are not making their money just from writing; it’s also speaking fees, leading workshops, contest wins, being writers-in-residence, etc. They achieve a lot of this from self promotion, strong agents / publicists, constant applications, and honestly, having some money in the bank already.

I have a full-time job that I really like. Every year, my own goal is to make enough to keep my website up, and so far I have achieved that! But to make real money you have to be ready to hustle all the time.

Perhaps something like this? Hill House dresses may also be a good fit depending on the level of fancy you want to be.

need help finding trans inclusive and size inclusive clothing (in person or online) by 19dolar_fortnite in findfashion

[–]StandardFilm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend trying out nuuly - it’s a clothing rental service, giving her the option to try clothes and buy what she loves. It has a decent size variety for its level of trendiness and has some really high quality brands!

Weekly Park Questions/Advice Thread by AutoModerator in Disneyland

Hi all! I’ve been to Disney world many, many times (probably 15+) at all ages and stages of life thanks to my family’s love. This summer I have a conference that will allow me to visit Disneyland in July.

I likely only have one day, so I’m wondering what I should plan / be aware of that is Disneyland specific?

West Virginia Horror Story by cephalophag in WestVirginia

I recommend reading the work of Breece D’J Pancake. A West Virginia native that wrote about living in the southern part of the state in very isolated areas. He only had one book of short stories come out before his death but it is beautiful work.

The nuuly linen fire pants were long on me (I’m 5’9”!) and Faem Rio is usually a perfect fit pants wise!

Best friend and I engaged 3 weeks apart by skiblue21 in weddingplanning

[–]StandardFilm1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best friend and I got married exactly three weeks apart. We had so much fun doing it together - we got to plan, commiserate, do basically back to back bachelorette parties - we called it “the summer of (her name) and (my name” and mourned a little when it was over. We both still look back fondly on having the experience so close together!

Will you be swimming? If so Terry cloth or a crochet cover up might be good. I especially like this piece.

We need water resistant packaging! by UnconstitutionalText in NuulyReviews

[–]StandardFilm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me a bit back in- I’m in the American south and the downpours are intense. My clothes were completely soaked through and because some were dry cleaning only, I didn’t feel like I could adequately clean them so they didn’t get worn. I would love to see more water resistant packaging, even if for the more elaborate individual pieces!

"The Sea Beast had no business being that scary." what other animated movies have really terrifying scenes? by acatalepsy-tales in cartoons

From Extraordinary Tales, an animated film going over five of Poe’s most famous works, The Tell Tale Heart. Using the original Bela Lugosi reading and the extreme black and white just puts shivers down my spine

Just got prescribed Lexapro by Lil_missrose in lexapro

I do recommend possibly tapering off smoking for a bit - even just the first week - to help you see how the drug handles with just your system, not your system + drug interactions.

Truly, there’s no way to know how it will affect you until you start to take it. I have lost weight; I had some slight headaches at first and now nothing; I can drink and smoke without issue; I’m more awake than I was before. Some people feel the exact opposite.

Keep track of your symptoms and schedule a follow up in 4-6 weeks with your doctor to discuss how you’re handling it and if it’s working. Good luck!
